After preventing the world he knew and loved from being taken over by demonic forces, the Doom Slayer grew tiresome of the endless struggle between humanity and the divine forces of Heaven and Hell, and did not take the chance at invading Hell once...

___________________________ One Week Later... Atlantic Ocean... Doom Slayer's POV
It's very rare for me to just relax and marvel at a sight like this.
Standing alone at the bow of the small tugboat, I leaned forward against the small rails in place as I did what I thought: Marvel at the sunset ahead.
Even in the last two decades, I worked day in and day out to build myself a future. Actually...
Turning my head back, I could see the small crew of people that took me in enjoying their fish meal. Especially Miss Redfield and her friend.

Maya: MINE!
Hmm...
VEGA: Are you alright?
Yeah. I'm just.... Just reminiscing.
VEGA: I'll leave you be then.
Roxanne: My apple!
Natalie: No, the last apple is mine!
Yeah.
Caitlyn: Now, now you two. We're gonna learn to share that apple together.
Alone...
I was prepared for this. I knew the journey wouldn't be easy, and not just the rigors of travel. Fighting to find someone... It goes far beyond a personal war. And it's not just about protecting my planet either, because my death will surely mean the end of days. I was used to fighting to survive, but what makes this even worse is the pressure to find the answers I'm looking for.
Would Arcadia and New Haven have them? If they didn't, then where to next? Even if they do know where they are, then what? How much have they changed? What will the future bring for us? Would they even accept me in this suit of armor, or even accept my apology?
It was that pressure of uncertainty that made me queezy a bit. What were once meaningless thoughts now ran rampant in my mind, over.... and over..... and over again. That same pressure that made the shotgun in my hand slip onto the ground. In picking it back up, I immediately noticed a huge difference in weight, as of I could not hold on to it without both hands.
