Bai Taohua squinted her eyes and rubbed her nose. The word displayed underneath was 'hanged ghost¹'. Wasn't that a little... Basic? Looking at the word besides 'hanged ghost', it gave her a location, 'hallway'. Bai Taohua had black lines on her face as she stepped down and wandered a little languorously to the makeup artist that was waving at her. The novel had only skimmed over this part and jumped straight into the makeup and start of the event! She sighed deeply but accepted her fate. It is what it is, there is no changing it. She will only have to work with being a 'lovely' hallway ghost, beckoning the poorly lost travelers to be her friend.

Subsequently after, He Xiao went up to take a spin. He had already calculated the chances. There was 87.5% chance of getting one of the seven unmarked ones and a 12.5% chance of landing on the 'hanged ghost' slot once again. He didn't care for what he would get because essentially this mini-challenge was just testing the person's acting and ability to adapt to a situation.

Jiang Man welcomed him up with a weird grin that matched Bai Taohua. "Welcome to the platter, little lamb~"

It gave He Xiao goosebumps. He didn't think that he would meet another comrade so quickly. He smiled back and spun the wheel. Was this a common skill of comrades to be able to spot a 0 and a 1 so quickly?

He glanced at the wheel that was declining in speed, to ignore the prickling incessant stares from Jiang Man. Seeing the wheel finally become idle, Jiang Man ripped off the cover. Many of the idle's lip twitched at the white characters and some giggled at He Xiao's 'luck'. Jiang Man turned around to face He Xiao and grinned, "I would like to see what you've got in store, little lamb."

He Xiao's expression remained unaffected by the choice showed and chuckled, "I won't disappoint host's expectations."

Heading over to the makeup artist that was in her mid-thirties, he introduced himself, "Hello, older sister. My name He Xiao, but you can just call me Xiao. It's very nice to meet you and I will be under your care today."

The woman laughed, exposing her dimples. "Haha. Your mouth is quite sweet, little brother. My name is Tang Lan⁹."

The two started on a good note. He Xiao knew that it was good to keep relations with everyone you come into contact with, no matter how small and insignificant you may think their roles are.

After their quick introduction, the two kept quiet as the others came up. On the side, He Xiao began to brainstorm silently on what to do. Thankfully, in the previous world Lin Jun Kai and Bao Bao made them watch some horror ghost films, so he could pull some ideas from those movies. The two words that were uncovered were 'female ghost²' and 'bathroom'. He Xiao was able to devise a rough plan of what to do, but he needed to see the place to figure out the rest and speak to the design team and Tang Lan on his idea.

Everyone else went up one by one, slowly uncovering five more choices: 'hungry ghost³', 'old woman ghost⁴', 'infant spirit⁵', 'paper dolls⁶', and 'jiangshi⁷'. Xiao Rui received 'jiangshi' and 'basement', and Hai Pixiu received 'old woman ghost' and 'kitchen'. The moment Bai Taohua saw the words, she fell to the ground and laughed until she started heaving. It made Hai Pixiu's face turn so black, that if someone shines a light on his face, it would fail to show through.

Her laughing fit only lasted briefly as the moment she saw his face, her face paled slightly and she stood up abruptly. Patting her clothes, she pretended to be a 'good girl' and laughed dryly. She was so getting in trouble after... If he caught her that is.

From the other twenty five: four were added to the hanged ghost, one became a female ghost rival for He Xiao, two became hungry ghosts and glanced at their own bellies, five were now old mahjong buddies with old woman Pixiu with matching blackened faces, three were infant spirits lamenting on how to be a baby once again, six became paper dolls and given the choice of being paired or not, and four were minions under the great grandfather jiangshi, Xiao Rui.
