lincoln sat in the back of the van, ironicly enough, he was dead silent, he didn't believe them at first, a vampire, hell, before today he was scared of them, and now he finds out he IS one, he hadnt believed them at first, after all, it did,nt make any sense, a vampire? please this wasnt some tv show on nicolodeon, this was real life, but, he gradually began to belive them, he could tell when his mother was lying, and she was definately not lying, the trip home was silent, before they went back into the house, his mother told him that there was no reason to be worried, and that if he needed to talk to someone about it, that pop-pop, lori, lucy, and herself, were also vampires, and that he got it from her, and to just make sure no-one is eavesdropping on them while they talk, simple enough, but their house had thin walls, and a lot of nosey siblings doesn't help either.

"lincoln" his mother said, snapping him out of his thoughts

"yeah" he replied silently

"this doesn't change who you are, or how much you mean to people, it only changes what you are, what you do is entirely up to you"

"thanks mom" he said quietly, she had this way with words, to make anyone feel better about their situation, she could make a guy who just lost his arm, and was no longer able to walk, fell better about it, and he had to give it to her, she was doing a good job

they got out of the car, and walked towards the house, his head started to throb, and he began to shake slightly

"m-mom" he began "I-I dont feel so good" he said with a shaky breath

"that probably just one of your senses acting up" she said calmly, its telling you that there is a group of vampires in the area, which would be your sisters, right by the door, sitting on the stairs" she said calmly, the shakes and sickness will go away in a few days, but until then, you're just going to have to live with them

lincoln felt like he had just been spun on a tire swing for twenty minutes, and could barely stand anymore, his mother opened the door, and lri stood up from her spot, and walked over to the doorway to help lincoln, she walked him over to the couch, where he lay down, she looked at him, before opening her mouth to speak

"how do you like being a vampire so far" she asked crossing her arms playfully

"how'd you know i was a-" he stopped himself, then lowered to a whisper "how'd you know i was a vampire"

"one: you dont have to whisper, we came home from school early to see you, so no-one else is home, 2: i could sense an extra presence, and so, without even having to look into the future, i knew that you were one of us" she said

"woahh, you guys can see into the future" he said, a starry eyed look taking over his face

"no" she said with a laugh "i'm just pulling your leg, but we can see through some solid objects, but it looks like your looking through night vision goggles

"so when do i learn " lincoln asked

"it all depends" lucy spoke from behind him

"on what" he asked

"the individual" she said, i learned in the first few days, and i heard that lori took about a year to learn" she said

"it didnt take me a year, it was only 7 months" lori said defensively

"which is still an abnormally long time" rita stated, "and it doesent depend on the person so much as it does their surroundings"

"what do you mean" lincoln asked

"what i mean is that a vampires abilities develope faster when near others, its kind of like sibling rivalry, always pushing to the top, so yours will develope quite fast" rita explained

"wait, so why did mine take so long" lori asked

"because i was always at work, since your dad didn't have a job yet"

"oh, that would explain some things" lori said

"rita looked at her, whats that supposed to mean" rita said, putting her hands on her hips

"it means i wish you were around more" lori said

"well, if your dad had gotten a job, i would've been around twice as much" rita shot back

"guys" lucy said, trying to gain their attention

"even if you were here ten times as often, that still wouldn't be very much, lori spat

"GUYS" lucy shouted, straining her voice

"WHAT" they both asked in unison

lucy pointed at lincoln, who was now out like a light, lori and rita whent from being angry at each other to feeling bad for him, it was his first day of knowing about his vampiric side, and they where arguing as if it were more important, anyone who went through this kind of change would need all the support they could get, and here they were fighting, lori grabbed a blanket from the wooden drawer under the sofa, and laid it on top of him

"so when are we going to tell him about dating" lori asked

"we'll wait for that, he doesn't need more stress right now" she said

lincoln lay there silently, the thought of his day running rampant, he was a vampire, and he couldn't change that, how was he going to tell his friends... was he even allowed to talk about it, and why did his mouth taste coppery, was that... blood?
