"what is it," lincoln asked

"well, your pet has a virus that doesn't match any known creature in my database," she told him

lincoln knew what she was talking about, but he couldn't take gleam back now, that would be too suspicious, so he was forced to wait it out

"the virus doesn't seem to affect his health, or eating habits, it seems it just multiplies and migrates to other organisms in a similar fashion to that of rabies"

lincoln stared at her blankly, before responding "what"

"I seem to have forgotten that you are a simpleton" she sighed, rubbing her temples "its an infection that spreads, but does no harm to the body, I have yet to study it, but to take that much blood from him would be the end of your pet"

"so you cant test is then," he asked hopefully, although he didn't show it"

"no, it just means I have to infect a disposable organism," she said picking up a walkie talkie and speaking into it "hey dave, I need a new shipment of a dozen albino Rattus norvegicus"

he heard the static filled reply from the other side, letting them know that she would be receiving them, then the line went dead

"well" Lisa started "we cant test your pet today, we'll do it when I get the rodents"

lincoln gave a sigh of relief, as he now had some time to think of an excuse to not have Lisa test it, otherwise, she may discover their secret

lincoln picked gleam up and situated him on his shoulder, he left the room silently, and Lisa spoke to him

"I  notice that you have been hanging out with Lucy, and Lori quite often, and you avoiding our other sisters has increased exponentially, is there any particular reason for such behaviour" she questioned

lincoln was shocked, he hadn't even noticed that he had been ignoring his other sisters, and now that it was pointed out, it was clear that he had, in fact, been disregarding them, "I didn't realize, I'll make sure to spend some time with them, is that everything" he asked, hoping to get to the rest of the days activities

"just one more thing, then you can go," she said, pulling up a video on her computer, it was of her talking, there was no audio, but it looked really strange, like...

"lincoln, can you tell me what is wrong with this video" she asked, gesturing to the screen, lincoln looked to the screen, and noticed that Lisa was also gesturing to the screen in the video too, he looked to the one corner of the room that wasn't on video, and saw that there was a camera, which had the red recording light on, lincoln looked nervously to Lisa, then the camera again, then back at Lisa

"I don't know what it is you three have been doing, and its not my business, but when I first started recording, I noticed that I could never find her on cameras, then one day when I was two, and Lucy was six, she just disappeared off screen, which was suspicious, but didn't alarm me as she has a tendency to do that, but then you disappeared, and I began to fear that there was something afoot, and when I voiced my concerns to mother, she insisted that everything was okay, and to not worry about it" she spoke, each word filling lincoln with more worry

"I don't know why this is happening" lincoln lied, trying to get her to stop asking him questions he knew the answer to, yet did not know how to answer, it seemed to work, either that or Lisa had just decided to herself that she would uncover the reason, either way, so long as he was careful, he would be fine for now Lisa turned back to her work, and told him that was all she had to talk about, lincoln went down the stairs to his parents room, he rarely ever went inside there, and it never changed in design, but it still fascinated him to no end that there was an entire room that he could never explore out of respect for others personal space, he knocked and was almost immediately greeted by his mother
