"thanks for letting me pick the place for lunch," i say to sora and sid as we headed into the cafe.

"no problem, why do you pick this place—" sora's cut off by sid squealing loudly.

"doggos!" she says slowing her pace as she approaches a shiba inu.

"a dog cafe, awesome." sora squeals plopping down on the floor a foot away from bigger fluffy white dog.

"marmalade!" i call, and a small white puppy comes bouncing toward me from a dog bed.

i've been coming to this dog cafe since i found out yuchan was cheating, and i've fallen head over heals in love with this puppy in that time span. he's so sweet. he jumps up, his tail wagging violently as i set my bag down on a table by the door. i sit down and he crawls into my lap, laying his head down on my thigh.

"grace," mrs. oh says, she's smiling widely as she comes towards my friends and i.

"hi mrs. oh, how are you?" i ask scratching behind marmalade's ears.

"happy you're here," she replies, which catches me off guard.

"oh?"

"marmalade's been depressed since you haven't been coming in regularly," she explains, looking down at the small dog in my lap. "he's barely been eating, and that worries me... i was wondering, hoping, you'd be interested in adopting him. you're my only customer the he seems to like, and he gets upset when he doesn't get to see you. and as you know, the whole point of my shop is to have people come and adopt the dogs."

i open and close my mouth, probably looking like a fish. i look to sid and sora, and they're both staring at me, anticipating my answer. then i look down at marmalade, and he's staring up at me being all cute. damn, he's lucky i love him.

"yes, i'd love to adopt him." i tell her and she claps her hands together, smiling widely.

"wonderful, i'll get the paperwork started and bring it out to you." she tells me already heading back to her office.

"ooooooh," sid and sora say in unison, looking at each other and then at me before squealing. "we're aunts!"
