Quality Time

"Ok Steve, we will see you soon, will you be ok for a couple of days by yourself?" Bucky said to Steve who was studying for his spring finals. Steve was just finishing up his 3rd year of College and he can see the finish line with one more year to go. Steve couldn't wait to be done with college, he enjoyed every minute of it but he was ready for it to end. His determination to make his mother proud is what help and of course Bucky consist push to finish also helped. Rolling his eyes at his friend Steve waved him off saying, "Yes Buck I think I can survive the weekend if not then I deserve what ever happens." Bucky decided to spend some time with Ramona considering he haven't had the time, with working and dividing time helping Steve with his finals, he felt pretty bad for his pup. For the Weekend Bucky is taking Ramona out of the city for time in the country. He rented out a small cottage from one of his co-worker who so graciously agreed  and gave it to him for a little of nothing. With the war getting bad and America getting involved a lot of people are finding it hard to make a living, lucky for some factories have began to open up more position to help make war paraphernalia, so anything helped. A lot of the young men that went to school with Bucky and Steve began signing up for the war, and Steve was beginning to take an interest on joining the fight much to Bucky fear. It was hard to envision his friend with a rifle in his hand and possibly getting hurt by his own weapon considering how small Steve really was.

Bucky let out a laugh and said, "Ok bud, i'll see you when we get back good luck on your finals, mom said she was dropping off leftovers for you later today." Bucky was putting on Ramona leash and making sure he had everything they needed. "Thanks Buck and have fun Ramona I know you will enjoy chasing those poor animal." Steve said giving Ramona a pet goodbye receiving a kiss on the nose in return considering Ramona isn't that much taller then Steve. Ramona hit her final adult weight and size and must admit, she looks gorgeous if you ask Bucky in his bias opinion. When Ramona stand on her two hind legs she can almost reach Bucky shoulder just to give a little indication on how big she got. Steve laugh at the silly dog antics knowing she alway aim her kisses well when it can to Steve. Hearing the hunk from the taxi Bucky and Ramona made their way to the driver, recognizing the driver from when they went to the fairground. Giving Steve one final wave Bucky and Ramona was off to the country side!

When Bucky seen the cottage his friend let him rent, he couldn't help but to be at awe of it, he knew his co-worker came from a well off family but never imagine this is were him and Ramona was staying never seeing anything this fancy before. "Well girl what do think about our home away from home?" Bucky asked unleashing Ramona watching her roam around smelling smells that she never smelt before and hearing creatures that don't be in the city. Bucky open the cottage door sitting their stuff down and just enjoying nature. Bucky will always be a city man, but something about nature will always relax a person. "Ok girl how about we walk around and explore." Ramona gave a bark and a wag her tail following her Bucky to the door and making a beeline for it. Bucky closed the door behind them bring Ramona leash just in case and laugh at his pup antic of chasing a butterfly. Ramona may have grown into her body but she was still goofy and sometime don't know how big she really is.

Walking around the surrounding forest Bucky and Ramona was enjoying themselves and the surrounding nature. Ramona even was chasing rabbits, getting out smarted by the small creature who was making a fool out of the city pet. Bucky sat on a falling tree branch and was just enjoying watching Ramona chasing the poor little forest creatures. The area that Bucky found was large enough for her to run safely and also large enough for Bucky to see people that may wonder from neighboring cottages, Bucky knew his little girl was intimidating to strangers so he always made sure when ever she was off leash to stay close to her so people will know she belong to him and wasn't a stray. 

Ramona was running around, and enjoying herself never having this much space to run around before, the city parks was nice but it always had a lot of other people and dogs around, but having space to really run and sprint at full speed without obstacles was absolutely glorious! once tuckered out from chasing the last rabbit to its hole Ramona realize just how far away she ran from Bucky. Running back at almost full speed she was making her way back to him wanting him to have fun with her. Bucky see his dog finally making her way back to him decided to have some fun with her. He quickly got up from his seat and ran into forest to hide from Ramona. Steve and himself done this before with her, but never with this setting so he was curious to see how Ramona will do finding him with all the different smells and sounds. Ramona saw Bucky leave and tried to run faster to catch up to him, when she finally reached his spot Bucky was Gone!. Ramona was use to this game, she remember how she used her nose and ears and always found her Bucky every time, so putting her training to the test she began to use her nose to try and sniff out Bucky. It was hard to pinpoint his scent with all the trees and bushes and animal smells. When Ramona smelt the area that he was sitting in she picked up his scent! making her way to Bucky hiding place. Bucky was watching the whole time as Ramona was using her brain to track his scent, he was once again proud of Ramona for using what she have learned to get what she wanted. As Ramona was getting closer Bucky moved from his spot and moved to another, laughing as Ramona was confuse when she thought she found him. Making a little noise getting her attention watching her ears perk trying to find him Bucky laugh silently to himself as Ramona had her nose to the air and ears perk prancing around knowing Bucky was very close.

Bucky peaked around the tree trying to spot Ramona, but found her to be gone. Bucky got really worried and his heart stop thinking the worst. Bucky looked around trying to spot his multi-colored pup, when he felt weight hitting his back making him fall to the ground then feeling a wet tongue and nose all over his face. Ramona found him and played a small trick of her own. Bucky let out a loud laugh then turned on his back with Ramona on top of him as she continue to give him love and affection. Bucky got up off the ground and started to wrestle with Ramona both just enjoy the carefreeness of their weekend trip. It was getting late and Bucky lead Ramona back to their cottage, this time with Ramona sticking close and looking back every so often making sure he don't runaway like earlier. When they reach the cottage Ramona immediately laid down panting with a big smile, she enjoyed her day especially with the hide-and-seek game that her and Bucky played out in the forest. Bucky walked to the kitchen washing his hands getting their dinner made then sat down and started eating, watching Ramona eat hers with gusto after running around all day she worked up an appetite. 

Walking to the bedroom Bucky washed up, before laying on the bed closing his eyes and just listening to the silence of the forest around him. Being accustom to the city life Bucky was use to hearing people and cars all through the night so hearing the night animal instead was a great change. Looking back to Ramona who was on the rug next to the bed Bucky reach over and started petting her on her back. Ramon let out a big sigh of enjoyment before rolling over showing her belly to Bucky, who laugh at his goofy dog. "Well girl I must say we had a good day, its refreshing to get away, though I must admit, I miss everyone back in the city I wonder what they are doing now." Bucky said as he continue to pet Ramona rolling on his stomach looking out the window feeling his eyes start to close and his pets getting slower. Ramona rolled back on her stomach seeing that Bucky was falling asleep. She reach up giving Bucky a lick on his hand nudging it with her nose, she too started to sleep, with Bucky hand limp on her head as his light snoring lured her asleep being excited for the next day of fun with just her and Bucky.
