Anni went to the restroom to change into something more appropriate for work and freshen up a bit. Beth ran the girls name as she waited for her to come out. The girl had a Connecticut ID and the name matched the one she had given.

Putting her info into the database she saw what she thought she would. No criminal record, not even a parking ticket. Checking her social she found the girl didn't have any debt, that crossed off gold digger. You can never be too safe. The girl was 26, an only child or only children. She had a degree from frickin' Harvard. She was glad her instincts were right.

She heard doors slamming and yelling that signaled her boys were back. They came through the back door like a stampede. "Wipe your feet!" She yelled. She heard them pause then continue in. She shook her head, she loved these boys but they were pigs.

Leland was the first in, followed by his dad and brother. "Big daddy!" She yelled. Making her husband look over and walk her way. The boys were on the computer probably trying to find a new lead. "What's up, mama?" Duane asked coming into her office.

"I hired a new girl today." He shook his head. "It sounds like you're telling me not asking. So what's up?" He asked sitting across from her. She leaned forward on her desk. "You ever meet someone and have an immediate connection to them? This is a good girl, but she needs family. And I want to be with you more. She has an accounting degree from Harvard, Duane." She said with an eyebrow raised.

He looked shocked, "So what is she doing here?" Beth smiled, "She took a leap of faith." Duane "Dog" Chapman took in his wife. He had been gone 3 hours and she had a Harvard grad that had Faith. "Look, just meet her and tell me if you disagree." He laughed. "Ya, cause with how much you like her that would matter." Beth smiled and looked behind him.

"Wow." She said spotting Anni. She rolled her suitcase behind the desk and hadn't noticed the guys yet. Duane looked over his shoulders then took off his glasses. "That's her?!" He asked incredulously. Beth laughed, the girl was a knock out. She saw both of her sons drooling from here.

Anni put her bag where Miss Beth had shown her and stood up to find her. She let out a small streak when she realized there were two large men in front of her. She put a hand to her chest. "I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there."

Luckily, Miss Beth seemed to have heard the shout and came out to make introductions. "Boys, close your mouths. Anni, these are my boys. Leland, Duane Lee and Duane but you can call him Dog. Guys, meet Annistyn Spera our new accountant."

She shook Duane Lee and Dog's hand but her eyes kept meeting Leland's. He finally snapped out of it and shook her hand, they both jumped a bit feeling a small shock when their hands touched. "Hi I'm Leland like she said. I've never seen you here before." His I would have noticed went unsaid.

She blushed, "No, you wouldn't have. I actually just got in from Connecticut today. I stopped in and Miss Beth was nice enough to give me a chance." She said smiling at the blond woman. "Miss Beth, is this ok for work? It's the only nice thing I brought with me." Beth had to laugh at that. "Honey, let me tell you something. Chanel will ALWAYS be appropriate here. Especially if you have any in my size." She said with a wink.

"Now let's go to the couches and get to know each other." She said shooing everyone to the next room. They all sat, Beth looked to Duane to start them off. "I heard Bethune call you Anni. Is it alright if I call you that, dear?" He asked. She quickly nodded, "More than fine, Mr. Dog." This made him laugh. "Just Dog is fine, honey." She looked worried. "Oh, I don't think I can." Beth was right this girl had a way of burrowing in your heart. "Alright, stay with what makes you comfortable." He coincided.

"So Beth tells me you went to Harvard." His sons looked shocked. "Girl, you went to Harvard?!" Duane Lee asked in shocked awe. She blushed, it wasn't that big of a deal was it? "Ya, um both of my grandparents had so I felt like it was the right choice." They all thought about how hard they had struggle to get through high school. They couldn't imagine going to an Ivy League college.

"Wow, So you have strong family values. That goes a long way with us." He said smiling. "Ya, my grandmother has always been my best friend." She said smiling. Leland finally spoke up. "You didn't have friends your age?" Beth gave him a look. "I didn't mean.." She just smiled at him. "No, you're right, I didn't. My family is...special. For lack of a better word. It always scared the other kids. By the time I was 21, I quit letting it bother me."

"Well, let me tell you something, sweetheart. From now on, you're a part of this family. I have 13 kids, I have plenty of room. We're weird too, you'll fit right in." Duane said looking her in the eyes. This girl reminded him of his daughters who would sometimes come home crying because the other kids wouldn't play with them. They didn't want their kids around the family of a convict.

Duane Lee had to ask. "What is it that your family does?" She shifted uncomfortably, "Well, have you ever heard of the Amityville Horror?" She decided to start slow. "The movie?" Duane Lee asked. "Are they murderers?" Leland asked seriously. Just the idea made her laugh. "No, no nothing like that. And no Duane Lee, the real Amittyville. Well what it was based off, the man that killed his family in New Jersey."

"My Grandparents are Ed and Lorraine Warren. My grandmother is the clairvoyant that helped them solve the murders." She looked down not wanting to see the laughter she always did. "Well that doesn't seem so bad." Said Leland. She quickly looked up, no one was laughing. "You ...you aren't laughing." She said incredulously.

Leland kept eye contact "We don't laugh at people's family. We know what it's like to be the oddball, it's not fun. We did it with a huge family, I can't imagine doing it practically alone." She couldn't help it, she started to cry. "I'm sorry. I must seem like a huge baby. It's just that no one but my family has ever really accepted me. My family is kind of notorious where I'm from and I refused to hide them."

Duane laughed "Honey, if you want notorious you've come to the right place." They all smiled in agreement. "So your grandma is a psychic? Like a real one?" Duane Lee has to clarify. She nodded "Well technically it's clairvoyant medium but basically." "What's the difference?" He asked interested. "Well it's not that there's a difference exactly, it's just in our family a psychic is more of a sideshow at a carnival. A clairvoyant is a person with a gift from God to help the world."

They all nodded understanding the difference to her. "So you're Christian?" Leland asked. She smiled and nodded "Ya, people always assume because my family runs an Occult Museum that we aren't, but I haven't missed a Sunday in a long time. It keeps us grounded." She hoped they missed her slip, of course in their line they couldn't.

"Us?" Leland asked quietly. She took a deep breath and decided to go all in. "Yes, us. My family are the only ones that know, but it seems I inherited a piece of grandmothers gift."

"What? How?" Leland was stunned. Was this beautiful woman for real? "Well I'm no where near the level of my grandmother. But I get flashes, dreams and occasionally I can touch something induce a vision." She gave a moment to let that sink in. "But my real talent lies in auras. In all honesty it's the reason I'm here. I saw your show..." She steadied herself. "Well I saw Leland first. Then I saw the rest of you."

Duane had to know "And what did you see?" She smiled seeing it still. "I see a light around all of you. You are true believers with pure hearts. You most of all Leland. Even if it was just once I had to meet you. Wow, you must think I'm really crazy now."

Duane seemed chocked up "No, actually quiet the opposite. I think you are a charming young woman that God sent to us. Thank you for letting us know that, Anni. I know it couldn't have been easy."

Beth spoke up, "I think that's enough information for today. Anni, let me show you where you'll work."

Leland sat back in his recliner. This girl made him feel something. He had a lot of think and soul searching to do.
