A few months later she and Leland were still going strong. She had finally met his boys and they were just as beautiful as she remembered in her vision. They looked and acted just like their dad. She had met Leland's ex as well. Maui was a lovely woman and welcomed her with no drama. She told Anni that as long as she kept her sons and Leland happy they were great.

In the last few weeks she had asked Leland to move in with her. They had been having a great time setting up rooms for the boys and having quiet nights in or going to Leland's matches. She felt something stirring in the air that morning, nothing bad. But something was taking them from their normal routine.

She heard Leland in the gym and went to check with him. "Hey, babe?" He set the lift bar back in place and sat up. She had to admire the view.

Leland Chapman in gym shorts could make a nun blush she thought. "Ya, babygirl?" He asked wiping off. She shook her head trying to remember what she was going to ask.

"Anything special going on today?" She asked leaning against the door. He was thoughtful for a moment. "Not that I know of why?" He asked coming to stand in front of her. "I don't know. I can't put my finger on it, but somethings up. It's not bad or anything." She shook her head letting it go. "I guess we'll find out. You want a smoothie?" She asked as she walked towards the kitchen to make one for herself.

"Ya, I'll be down after I shower and we can see what's going on." It took all her willpower to keep walking. She threw together a protein shake for them both, putting them in travel mugs. "You all set?" He asked walking down the stairs. "Yep, here you go one Cashew Cinnamon Protein Shake." She said handing him his tumbler. He looked skeptical until he tried it. "I don't know why I doubt you at this point." He joked take another large drink.

"Life would be so much easier if you just knew I was always right." She laughed back. They headed out to his truck. It was an unspoken agreement that like at work Leland drove. He left the keys with her at work in case they worked late so she could get home. He would have Duane Lee take him home. His brother had been mad the entire day the first time Leland handed her the keys but wouldn't let his brother near it. Though she expected his teasing answer of "I trust her" Had part in that as well.

They pulled into the lot and didn't see anything unusual. They walked in and Duane Lee immediately tried to swipe Leland's drink. He loved her drinks and they had often come to joking blows over the cup. She leaned against the wall sipping her shake as they wrestled on the ground. She was glad he had remembered to close the cup first this time.

She felt Beth walk up behind her. "Again, guys?" She said exasperated. "He's trying to take my drink!" Leland yelled with his big brother's arm around his throat. "Duane! Handle your children." she yelled going back to her office. Dog came from the other room and took in the scene. "Break it up, guys! Duane Lee, let your brother go. You can have tea like me." He said.

Duane Lee got up acting like a child pouting. "I don't want tea!" He said stomping away. Stepping over his brother's attempt to trip him. "Alright guys, we have a special case today. Let's gather round." He called. She looked at Leland with a smile.

She followed him to his new desk in the corner. Sitting in the edge so she could see him and his dad. "Ok guys, today we have a case we're working. My good friend James Lindblat has a runner. Now he has a son that wants to be a bounty hunter, so I've said that we would show him the ropes and bring him along."

"So now we're babysitters and bounty hunters?!" Duane Lee asked upset. She leaned her head on Leland both of them laughing. Duane Lee didn't take change well. "This is helping family, Duane Lee." His dad explained. That shut his mouth, and got him standing when the door opened. It was a middle-aged man and one younger who was obviously his son.

Dog walked up and gave them both a man hug. "Guys, this is my good friend James and his son Nick." He introduces them. "This is my crew and family: Duane Lee, Leland, Anni, and of course my wife Beth." He said pointing as he introduced them. Nick waved politely and sat down in a recliner.

But not any recliner, oh no, Duane Lee's recliner. His reaction was priceless as he glared at the young man and took a seat on the couch. They went over the case file like normal with Nick answering the questions to check he knew the needed information. She raised her hand with a giggle when Dog asked if there were any questions.

"Yes, Anni?" He asked with a smile. "Can I please come on this hunt? I'll stay in the car. I'm a week ahead in work, I can't miss this." She said with a smirk. Dog looked to his wife who shrugged and nodded.

"Alright, lets roll out." Dog said starting to pack up. Leland wrapped his arms around her waist and looked up at her from his seat. "So, why the sudden interest in this hunt?" He asked. His thumbs rubbing her back were really distracting.

"Because this isn't catch day, and Beth isn't gonna let up on this kid one bit. Can I be in the car with Duane Lee and Nick while you take Beth like usual?" She asked kissing him. He looked at how happy whatever was coming made her and smiled himself. "Ya, have fun." He said getting up and helping her down.

In the lot they came up on Duane Lee "helping" Nick put on his gear. It's going to be a fun day, thought Anni.
