"The- The what?" Sal asks, eyes widening.
"I know you heard me, Y/N's under the church, and I have a theory about this. Before this next part, I need you guys to tell me a few things." Rika frowns, taking another peppermint from the jar and popping it into her mouth. She sucks on it, asking, "Sal, how did she get into your phone?"
"I-I don't know." Sal answers. She looks a bit disappointed, so he continues, "B-But I have this app, I think that's where she came from."
"What app?" She asks. Sal picks up his phone, pointing to the application. Rika looks at it, turning back to her computer. She opens up a tab, searching about the app. A few articles is shown about it. She turns to Sal, a bit skeptical, "I'm confused."
"I'm confused too." He says.
She clicks on the articles, squinting, ".. These.. These aren't real websites."
The three males behind her blink, "Wha-What?"
She takes a deep breath, "I have a theory and you guys might not like it."
"We're not liking every moment of this night." Larry deadpans. "How worse is it?"
"Kinda worse." Rika turns around on her chair again, leaning towards them. "Theory is that the cult knows that you know about them, and that they're monitoring you guys. Thing is, they can't, and they made an app- Sal found it, and-"
"Woah, woah, are you saying that-" Sal's eyes widen as realisation sinks into him, "- that the cult tapped into my phone?"
"It's a far-fetched theory, dude. But, wait, let me go check some thing again." Rika turns back to the computer, heading back to the tab where Y/N is strapped to a machine. Multiple other tabs appear, and they wonder how Rika even knew how to do this. She speaks as she types, explaining to them, "Alright, I got into their surveillance cameras, into their files, and all that shit."
"In the first place.. we're going to save Y/N, right?" Larry asks her.
"Yes, I'm getting to that in a moment." Rika presses her fingertips together, as if a plan is hatching within her mind. "I can get this case to the FBI."
"With the what?!"
"Inside voices, gentlemen." She snaps. "Don't shout."
"Sorry."
"Anyway, I can get the FBI involved with this." Rika claps twice, "Thank the heavens that my parents are FBI agents."
"They're what now?"
"They're FBI agents, and what time is it?"
"It's three in the morning." Todd answers, checking his watch. They hear a car pull up in the driveway.
"And that's my dad, let me go greet him and explain to him the epic situation we have." Rika gets up on her chair, heading down the stairs. Sal covers his face with his hands, before pulling on his pigtails.
"I'm so fucking scared and confused, I miss her man." He admits, his voice cracking a bit. "I can't believe it's been two years.."
"We can't believe it too man, I'm sorry that we told you just now." Larry puts a hand on his shoulder, comforting his best friend.
"I-It's alright, I.. I'm just so overwhelmed with everything tonight." Sal says, breathing heavily to stop himself from bursting into tears. Todd sighs, reaching in to hug the smaller boy.
"We're going to save her, bud. We got the FBI now, how cool is that?" Larry assures, ruffling his hair. They hear footsteps bound up the stairs, though when they turn they only see the dog.
Rika soon follows after, with a man behind her. She smiles at them, and points at her computer, "All the evidence is laid out here, father. I believe that you've heard me speak of the missing Y/N L/N?"
The man heads to the computer, looking at the tabs. He turns to them, speaking in a gruff voice, "I've only gotten home, and yet you bother me with another case."
Rika only smiles.
"That's my girl, at this speed, you'll be with me and your mom now." He chuckles. "Kidding, you still have to finished highschool first and get through college."
"I know that father." Rika sighs, seemingly disappointed. She turns to the three males, "Undoubtedly, my first plan was that we go to the church ourselves and sneak in, but good thing Father was here before I do something stupid."
"I was only lucky to get here." Her father sighs. "Anyway, let me call up the agency."
He goes back downstairs, and Rika turns to them, "While he goes do that, I've sent a fly-drone so we can watch it in action. Through the drone, and through the cameras."
Before anyone can react, Sal breaks down into tears.
"Tha-Thank you, so much, I-I can't-" He chokes on his sobs, trying to form the words he wants to say. His knees grows weak, the weight of the situation finally dawning on him. How did he end up with a life so chaotic? From his mother dying, him having to wear a prosthetic for the rest of his life, to having his girlfriend be used against him by a cult in the town he had moved into! He unclasps the lower buckles of his mask, wiping the tears that he had cried.
"Let's go downstairs, you guys are exhausted, and you need a drink." Rika tells them, sighing a little. They all head downstairs, sitting on their couch. Exhaustion finally catches up on them, leaning their heads against the sofa. Rika enters the room, leaning by the doorway, "Water, coffee, or hot cocoa?"
"Coffee."
"Water."
"Uhh, just water."
"You guys are boring." Larry groans. "Coffee's much better than water."
"We're too exhausted for coffee." Todd answers.
"I don't like coffee."
"Alright, two glasses of water and a mug of coffee." Rika turns back around to get to the kitchen. The three boys stay on the couch, too exhausted to do anything-
"Oh, I forgot my phone upstairs." Sal stands up from the couch, out the living room, and up the stairs. He heads to the desktop, seeing you sitting on the surface. He sighs, saying, "Hey."
"S-Sal?" You look up, seeing him. Flowers appear from beside you as you press up against the screen. "I was alone, I got scared."
"I know, I remember it from.." Sal trails off, nearly saying his girlfriend's- your- he shakes his thoughts of, still not knowing if you really are a consciousness of his girlfriend. "Nevermind that."
"Were you crying?" You ask, frowning a bit.
"I miss.." He couldn't continue it. He was going to say Y/N.
"I miss you too Sal."
He turns to his phone, eyes wide. His phone glitches. He waits for the video.
It's from Y/N's perspective, as he has known for a long time.
He watches as she laughs, looking at him through a laptop.
It was that time he and Y/N talked through Skype because she went on a vacation with her family.
He hears himself speak, "Damn, I miss you Y/N. I can't wait to hug you when you get back here."
"I miss you too, Sal. I love you."
"I love you too."
Phone blacks out. Phone glitches back to normal.
His heart drops.
He unplugs his phone from the computer, taking it down to the living room. Larry and Todd sit up from the thundering noise coming down the stairs, seeing Sal with wide eyes.
"N/N's gone!"
