You lugged your backpack over your shoulder, feeling it's weight tugging on you. A few moments later you could hear the sound of heavy boots hitting the pavement behind you at a quickening pace. "Hey there, doll." The all too familiar voice induced an immediate eye roll before you even turned around to see who it was. That voice, smooth as silk, but laced with arrogance. "Jimin." You greeted him curtly. "Where are you off to?" He asked, stepping in front of you, your footsteps stuttering. "School. Where else?" You huffed, sidestepping around him. "Why don't you skip? You can hang out with me." He smirked mischievously. "Yeah. No thanks." You declined and continued walking, doing your best to ignore him. He was annoying as ever, but you couldn't deny there was something appealing about him, making it difficult for you to ignore him. Maybe, in a weird messed up way, his persistence had a charm about it. "Oh, come on, doll." He huffed, jogging to match your stride. "I can make it worth your while." You grimaced in distaste at his choice of words. "We're friends." He reasoned. "And friends hang out together, do they not?" "I have a feeling you don't exactly see me as a friend." "Oh?" He quirked a brow. "Then what do you think I see you as then? More than a friend? A girlfriend maybe?" "In your dreams, Park Jimin." You scoffed. "I love it when you play hard to get." He whispered, hooking his arm around your waist. "Hands off." You jerked away. "You're so difficult today." He huffed out. "I give up." "Good." You responded, grateful to see the school building come into view, your feet moving a little faster.
"Listen—" Jimin spoke up. "We're here." You cut him off before he could say what was on his mind. "Hang out with me after school." He blurted before you had a chance to run off. "Please?" He added sweetly, a cute pout accompanying his request. "I don't know." You teased, fighting a smile. He knew you were joking, especially since you always hung out with him, even if you pretend to hate him sometimes. "I'll be waiting for you." He winked, to which you shook your head and started towards the school. "That boy." You sighed under your breath.
You went straight to your locker, gathering your books for first period. When you stepped into class, your searching gaze spotted your friend, Chan, whom you immediately went to sit next to. "Hey, Y/n." Chan flashed a friendly dimpled grin. "How was your morning?" "A little tiring." You sighed. "And day has barely started." "Oh no. What happened?" "Jimin followed me all the way to school." "Again?" "Yes." You let out a huff. "When are you gonna stop pretending to be annoyed with him?" He asked. "I'm not pretending—not all the time anyway." You murmured, unzipping your bag to retrieve your supplies for class. "You're unbelievable." Chan shook his head. "Jimin is the flirtiest person I know and I guarantee I'm just like all the other girls he's flirted with. I don't think he actually has feelings for me, that's why I have to keep pretending I'm not that into him. If he stops flirting with me and gives up, then I know he was never into me in the first place." "And has he stopped flirting with you yet?" "Well... no." Chan raised his eyebrows at you. "No. No. Don't give me that look." You shook your head. "He's not into me romantically. It's not like him at all. He's the type who wants short term stuff or no commitment." "He seems to be pretty committed to you." He chuckled. "That's because he likes the chase." "Whatever you say."
