Look Down Lyrics (Pony Version)
Look down, look down
Don't look 'em in the eye
Look down, look down
You're here until you die
Now prisoner 24601
Your time is up and your parole's begun
You know what that means
Yes, it means I'm free
No!
Follow to the letter of your itinerary
The badge of shame you'll show until you die
It warns you're dangerous
I stole some pastries from Sugarcube Corner
My sister's filly was close to death and we were starving
You will starve again
Unless you learn the meaning of the law
I know the meaning of those 19 years
A slave of the law
Five years for what you did
The rest because you tried to run
Yes, 24601
It's Jean Valjean
And I am Javert
Do not forget my name!
Do not forget me, 24601
Look down, look down
You'll always be a slave
Look down, look down
You're standing in your grave
Free at last,
How strange it is
Never forget the years, the waste
Not forgive them for what they've done!
They are guilty!
Everypony!
The day begins
And now let's see
What Equestria
Will do for me!
Jean Valjean passes through a line of worker ponies. There, the Earth pony approached the Overseer.
"Do you need any help, sir?" He asked, "A day's work?"
He removes his hat and the Overseer asks Valjean for a passport, which he scans and returns it.
"I'm sorry, there's no work today." The Overseer replied.
Then, Valjean was on his way to the Crystal Mountains, where he stumbled across a small town near the Crystal Empire called Digne. In this town, there is an officer who signs, stamps, and hands back the passport to Valjean. The wandering pony, looking for a place to stay for the night, stumbles upon a jail.
"Jailer, can I stay here for the night?" Jean Valjean asked.
The Jailer, hesitant, replied, "This is a prison, not a hotel. You'd have to get arrested if you want to stay here."
Then, Valjean ventured more to the ends of Equestria, where he ends up at an old Equestrian church. He trots up and he sees a Bishop, who kindly lets him in.
"You must be tired, young stallion. Do come in, for the night is as cold as can be." The Bishop pony said.
Not sure of what to do, Valjean follows this old stallion to a house adjacent to the old church.
When they entered the Bishop's house, a meal was pre-prepared and already out on the table.
"There is cider here to revive you and bread to make you strong." The Bishop said, "I have also provided a bed for you, so sleep well for tomorrow."
But little did Valjean know that the next morning, he was to be caught.
