"To the sewers and leave her to me!" Thenardier said, "You wait,  my filly.  I'll make you scream alright!"

Valjean galloped into Cossette's bedroom and picked her up. 

"Cossette, I heard a cry in the dark! I heard angry voices in the street!" He said, flustered and worried. 

"I saw three ponies beyond the wall! They were moving fast in the shadows!"

The Earth pony went to his own bedroom to think.

"It must be Javert. He's found me and has blown my cover at last. I've got to protect Cossette and get her away before he comes." He said.

Turning to Cossette, he said, "We must get away quickly from these shadows that never leave us alone. Tonight we leave!" 

"No!" She said.

"The ship's ready. Hurry, Cossette! We must depart!" 

"No, we can't go!"

"Hurry, Cossette! We must leave immediately So we can live another day!" Valjean said, packing. 

Cossette writes a letter and gives it to Eponine.

"Please, give this to Marius! He must know where to find me." Cossette said.

Eponine crumpled up the letter, sadly trotting slowly down the street on a rainy day.
