Vegas had been crazy. Monica and Chandler nearly got married and Rachel and Ross did get married. It was great to be home and (y/n) had built up the courage to tell Joey how she felt. But then Chandler moved in with Monica and Joey got a new roommate, Janine. Joey clearly liked her. Although she was a little bit envious of his previous girlfriends, she couldn't stand Janine. She was lovely when Joey was around, but Janine was horrible to (y/n) when he wasn't there.
(Y/n) locked her apartment door and headed off to work. Joey came out of his apartment, a big grin on his face.
"Hey (y/n)!"
"Hi Joey. I was wondering if you wanted to come over later? I'm making your favourite cheesecake."
"Thanks but I'm going out with Janine tonight. We are going on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. I can't wait. I'm going to kiss her! Wish me luck."
"Okay, cool. Yeah, good luck Joe. Bye." (Y/n) said sharply. She hurried off down the stairs leaving Joey looking hurt.
