The cure to sleep

Set before Christmas. Alex is back playing football before then.

Perrie's pov:

I can't stop the groan of annoyance that leaves my lips as i turn over for what seems like the 20th time tonight.

I'm not sure what exactly is keeping me awake tonight but i can't seem to settle down no matter how many times i toss and turn.

Unfortunately my sleep disturbance doesn't go unnoticed by my sleeping boyfriend. He shifts every time i move.

"Whats wrong babe?" Alex wonders as he sits up, turning the lamp on his side of the bed on so that he can see me better. He frowns as soon as he sees me.

"Gosh baby, you look like you haven't slept a wink. Whats on your mind?" he asks.

"That's the thing! I don't know what's bothering me. I just can't seem to relax!" i exclaim, mad at myself for waking Alex, knowing he has a match at noon tomorrow.

"I'm sorry that i am keeping you awake also. Maybe i should just go downstairs or something and let you rest." i say, getting out of bed and gathering my phone and dressing gown as it's a chilly night.

"Hey, don't worry about me! I'm fine and i won't be able to rest properly if i know your sitting down stairs all alone. I have an idea. Just get back into bed and i'll be back in a minute." he tells me, pulling me back into bed before he disappears out of the door.

I sit back in bed and rub my temples, wondering what on earth is going on. It isn't like me to not be able to sleep.

While i wait for Alex to get back, i sit and think about any upcoming events.

Studio, interviews, Jingle bell ball, Christmas, Charity event with Alex. I think that's everything. Maybe it's just the excitement keeping me up? Is that even a thing?

Before i can think further, Alex joins me back in my room and i notice he is holding a cup of something.

"This might help. I know you like it with marshmallows and cream so it's your lucky night. I could be completely wrong as the sugar might keep you up but it's worth a try, right?" he flashes his dazzling smile as he hands me the cup.

"Thank you." i smile warmly, gladly taking a sip of the sweet hot chocolate.

Alex sits by me as i drink my delightful drink, slightly stroking my back as i do so.

After a few minutes, i can feel my eyes beginning to droop. Alex must notice this as he carefully takes the cup from me, flicking off the bed side lamp before he lies me back down on the bed, pulling me into his warm embrace.

Within seconds, i can feel myself drifting off into bliss but not before i hear Alex whisper
"sweet dreams, my love."

Just a little something as i haven't posted this week. I Hope everyone has a good weekend! :)
