Love Music More

Slow stroke,
Listen closely.
Watch carefully,
Instrument up now.

Look for cue,
Coming up now.
One, two,
Three, four.

One, two,
Play... now.
Speeding up,
Accelerandos, watch.

Crescendo, grow louder,
Decrescendo, a little softer.
Hair floats across string,
String buzzing.

Arms moving,
Emotion starting.
Anticipation builds,
Not quite the limit.

Breathing heavily,
Blood pumping.
Building up,
Almost there.

Suddenly,
It's here.
Power spreads,
Coursing through veins.

Feeling triumphant,
At the music we've made.
Hairs flying,
Violinists dancing.

Pure exhilaration,
While being utterly free.
Deeper breaths,
Calming down now.

One, two,
Three, four.
One, two,
Fade out.

Growing softer,
On a freight train.
Traveling away,
Hearts beating slowly.

Just the thump,
Cellos echoing the tune.
Suddenly,
Basses left.

They trail off,
Ending in silence.
Sit there,
In anxious silence.

Can't make,
The first move.
Suspense breaks,
We all breathe again.

Then,
A thunder starts.
First a hoot,
Then a cheer.

Followed by clap,
After clap after clap.
Arise,
Their feet say.

Beautiful,
They clap away.
A few words,
Are spoken.

Bouquets,
Given out.
Hugs exchanged,
Goodbyes said.

Never, this group,
To play again.
Some,
To new adventures.

Others,
A brief pause.
But all,
Remember music.

Despite their differences,
Together in heart.
They will always strive,
To love music more.
