Time to meet the one.
Go on dates to movies,
Have a picnic under the sun.Times are a coming,
Filled with happiness and joy.
Proud to be a parent,
Of a lovely baby boy.Times are a coming,
He begins to walk.
But things are still difficult,
Especially when he talks.Times are a coming,
Little baby boy isn't so little.
Talking back and arguing,
He refuses to play the fiddle.Times are a coming,
Full of teenage rage.
Everything done is rude,
The parenting book doesn't have that page.Times are a coming,
Phases will end.
He starts to love again,
And introduces you to his best friend.Times are a coming,
Full of daughter-in-laws and all.
Expensive weddings are expected,
There might even be a ball.Times are a coming,
He holds his baby boy in his hand.
It's the circle of life,
And you see his wedding band.Times are a coming,
Full of sickness and health.
Your boy falls ill,
And you provide the wealth.Times are a coming,
Full of grievances and more.
Funerals take place as you wonder,
What did my little boy go for?Times are a coming,
His little boy starts to grow.
Grand parenting is incredible,
And you see him without a foe.Times are a coming,
As life nears its end.
Don't be sad, rejoice instead,
Time to see your best friend.Times are a coming,
Soon time to see your baby boy.
He loves you still,
And is funny and coy.Times are a coming,
Say goodbye to his little boy.
You know time has come,
Time to see your baby boy.
