My Eternal Destiny

Life is important,
This fact must be true.
We're here for a reason,
So that I could meet you.

My life was simple and sweet,
I was happy and kind.
Then I realized what was missing,
And you, I went to find.

The search was long and hard,
It never seemed to end.
As I started to give up,
A shape caused the light to bend.

We argued and we fought,
There was no chance for us.
Hope seemed lost,
And love, not worth the fuss.

My father passed away,
I couldn't function.
You were always there,
And paid for the lunch-in.

Things started to change,
You seemed to care for me.
My heart turned to you,
And I could finally see.

Then something horrible happened,
You were taken away.
You left me all alone,
Now under the ground you lay.

All was bleak and dim,
I couldn't find happiness now.
My mom left too,
Left me to wonder how.

How and why,
Must it be like this?
Everyone I love,
I dearly miss.

I read the Bible,
Looking for help.
I didn't know it would come,
In the sound of a yelp.

A small dog was trapped,
On the side of the road.
I rescued him,
And he relieved my load.

I started to go to church,
Didn't know what was right.
I made some friends,
And they showed me the light.

This gospel I'm a part of,
Helped show me the way.
It explained everything to me,
And why you went away.

Even though it gets hard,
I know the Lord's on my side.
I'm in this for the long run,
And the dog's ready for a ride.

I know things aren't perfect,
They aren't supposed to be.
But I've found happiness and joy,
Through my eternal destiny.
