"Remember to bring your essays tomorrow. The SAT's are coming and you need all the extra marks you can get!" Our English teacher said when the class ended.

"If anyone says SATs again, I'm killing them," Yerin said. "For real."

"I'm so nervous about the SATs!" We heard Moon Sunhwa say just then.

"I warned her. That was a signal from the gods asking me to kill her!" Yerin exclaimed.

Yerin and Sunhwa used to be friends but got into a big fight and could no longer stand each other. They had almost like a cold war going on between each other and were always trying to surpass the other in whatever they did. I, in all honesty, couldn't stand her nor her -I suppose- best friend Kang Dahee. They were the type of people to talk behind your back and then act as if you were best friends when they are with you.

"As much as I would like to see that, I can't risk you hitting her wrongly and just sending her to the hospital while you have to go to prison," I joked making her laugh. "Shall we get going, then?"

We then went outside of the class and walked through the corridors at our own pace while the rest of the people there were running to get away from the school as soon as possible either because they had to go to an academy, needed to go somewhere or simply wanted to run away from the hell hole.

"Eunji!" I heard Mingyu calling me from the entrance gate. "You owe me ice cream!"

"Oh, I almost forgot!" I said just loud enough for Yerin to hear me. "Do you want to join us?"

"No, don't worry. I need to go to French class later, so I should do my homework before that. Have fun, though!" She told me.

She then waved goodbye to Mingyu and left to her home while I approached him.

"You forgot, didn't you?" He asked me and I nodded. "Where do you have your brain?"

"Right now it's probably jamming to Infinite's «The Eye», honestly," I joked and he pressed his finger on my forehead, pushing me back. "Hey!"

"You are an idiot," he said before walking towards his scooter. "Let's go to the convenience store next to the park close to your house."

He then hopped on the scooter and I sat behind him before we both put on the helmets and he drove to the park. I was close to Mingyu yet skinship wasn't something usual between us unless we were bickering, so I never hugged him when we were on his scooter. Instead, I always either placed my hands on the side of the seat or on his waist.

When we reached the convenience store, I picked up a tub of Haagen Dazs's strawberry ice cream and two fairly inexpensive spoons before going to the cashier to pay. Mingyu was waiting for me on the table by the window, so I joined him there after paying.

"Bon appetit!" I said as I opened the tub.

"... then queen Jinseong, king Hyogong, king Gyeongmyeong..." I said as I revised History with Minghao at my home.

"No, you always forget King Sindeok goes before king Gyeongmyeong," Minghao told me.

"Why do we have to learn so many kings? Just in the unified Silla, there's twenty-seven!" I protested and laid back on my bed. "I don't get why we need to learn this if we are going to film school."

"No one does, Eunji, but we need to go through it so you may as well just learn it," he told me as he pulled me so I was sitting down again.

As Minghao was an excellent student, I met with him every week so he would help me with my weakest subjects -except for maths as Yerin helped me with that-. He was really helping me get good grades, so I really appreciated it.

"How can you even memorise all those things? Do you have a brain or a hard-drive?" I asked him.

"You aren't really in the mood for studying right now, so I think we may as well just leave it aside for an hour or so," he said ignoring what I said. "Do you want to play something? A game of Go?"

"Sure, why not," I said and we went downstairs to play at the small dining table. "You will win, anyway. You always do."

"That's because I've been playing it for longer than you and it's a game you learn to master through playing," he reasoned as we set everything up. "Black or white?"

"Black," I answered. "I was white last time."

We then began playing mostly in silence although we occasionally said something to break the silence or distract the other.

Halfway through the game -which I was losing- Joshua came back home.

"Oh, hello, Minghao!" Joshua greeted him. "Are you staying for dinner? I brought Chinese food on my way here."

"In that case, yes. I'll tell Junhui, wait for a second," he said taking out his phone and calling him. "Jun?... Yes, I'm staying for dinner so don't wait for me... Okay... I'll get it for you before going back... Okay, goodbye."

Jun and Minghao were both Chinese students who came to Korea as exchange students the year Joshua and I did and decided to stay after seeing how things were. I had gotten pretty close to them as I knew some Chinese and helped both of them with Korean during the afternoons. That was also one of the reasons they joined my brother's - and I guess mine's too- group of friends.

"Will your game take long?" Joshua said. "It's to start preparing the table."

"It doesn't matter," I said placing all of the stones back on the box. "He was winning and I didn't even know what I was doing, so let's just say Minghao won."

Shaking his head, Minghao helped me put everything away and we took the food to the table before sitting down and eating.

"How was today's class?" Joshua asked us. "Did you take anything out of it, Eunji?"

"I only know that I hate the Korean kings," I told him with some food still on my mouth.

"Eunji, finish chewing and then speak!" Joshua said hitting my hand. "Gosh, you are like Mingyu sometimes."

"You didn't just say what I think you just said!" I said gasping.

"Oh, I did!"

"Hey, siblings, chill out!" Minghao said stepping in. "If you kill each other it will seem like I was the one who did it. Wait until I'm out of here before you slice each other's throats."
