A month after the exams, the date when the results would be revealed finally arrived and we were all really nervous and scared. To help us cope with the nerves, the older boys chose to move their rehearsal day to that one instead of leaving it for Friday so we could relax before the marks were posted on the national website.
"Are you sure you don't want to join us?" Seungcheol asked Yerin and me as they all finished rehearsing another part of the dance. "It's just to relax, you don't need to take it seriously."
"What time is it, by the way?" Vernon asked as he grabbed a water bottle.
"The results should be up any second now!" Yerin exclaimed after checking the time.
"If you pass I'm inviting you to dinner tonight," Wonwoo whispered in my ear before we waited for the results.
Immediately after she said that everyone gathered together to see the results as soon as they were posted. We didn't really have to wait long, as less than a minute later they were all up.
"No flipping way!" I exclaimed as I checked all of my results. "I- only had two wrong answers!"
"Are you kidding me?!" Joshua exclaimed as he took my phone and checked it himself. "You only had two wrong answered in Math!"
He then wrapped me in a bone-crushing hug with the biggest smile in both of our faces. I couldn't believe I had made it to my dream university and that all the hard work had paid off.
After Joshua had released me, Wonwoo immediately followed and he lifted me off the ground as he hugged me tightly, which made me laugh. As we pulled apart, we saw everyone looking at us confused, which made us pull away immediately.
"Since when are you two so close?" Jeonghan asked us confused. "Did we miss something?"
"I'm just going to finally not be alone at my university!" Wonwoo wittily lied. "Can't I be happy?"
"Well, I guess I'll be joining both of you!" Minghao exclaimed. "This boy right here managed to get a full on perfect score!"
"Don't start celebrating without me!" Mingyu said. "Guess who only got one wrong answer?"
As soon as Mingyu said that I ran towards them and gave them both a tight hug before we jumped up and down from excitement. I was really happy to be able to go to university with both of them and hopefully even go to the same classes. They were two of my best friends and, as I knew the rest would be studying other things, the idea of being able to be with two of them was already incredible.
"What about you guys?" I asked as I turned to the rest of them, who were all celebrating too.
"Perfect score right here!" Yerin said showing her grades to me before we both tightly hugged.
"I'm surrounded by geniuses!" Seungkwan joked. "I got four wrong, but I think I will still manage to get into Seoul National University."
"We both got two wrong," Vernon said pointing to Seokmin and himself.
"I got one wrong," Chan said with a happy smile.
"How did all of you even manage to top our grades?!" Seungcheol exclaimed before turning towards the older boys. "And we thought we did well!"
We then excitedly chatted about our grades and how happy we were when Mingyu approached me and placed one of his arms over my shoulder.
"Today is your turn to come to my house," he told me.
"Sorry, what?" I asked him confused.
"We always hang out together at any of our houses whenever we get our grades, Eunji. Did you already forget or is it that this time doesn't count?" He asked me.
Since we became friends we had the habit of hanging out together the day we were handed our grades whether they were the ones for the semester of for the whole year. Each time we did so, the one with the lowest score had to pay for the meal and invite the other one home.
"Oh, shoot! I completely forgot!" I said looking at Wonwoo, who was talking to Yerin at that moment. "I'm sorry, I already have plans."
"You always seem to have plans nowadays! Do you actually have them or are you just ditching me?" He asked mad. "Is it because of that boy you had a date with?"
"Look, Mingyu. I'm terribly sorry but I also have the right to hang out with other people. It's not like I have stopped hanging out with you. We still meet whenever you have rehearsals!" I reasoned. "We can hang out another day!"
"So it is because of that boy!" Mingyu exclaimed. "You didn't even deny it!"
"And so what? Is there something wrong with it?!" I exclaimed too, making everyone there turn towards us immediately to see what was going on. "Why do you care so much about who I hang out with? Would you act the same way if I told you I was going to be with Chan or with Seokmin?"
"Guys, stop!" Joshua said stepping between us. "What is wrong with both of you?! Why are you suddenly fighting?! Why did you yell at my sister, Mingyu?"
"Your little sister found herself a boyfriend," Mingyu told him shocking Joshua. "Oh, sorry, didn't she tell you?"
While Joshua just stood there shocked and furious, Wonwoo suddenly stepped towards Mingyu and grabbed his t-shirt in a fistful, bringing him closer towards him.
"First of all, you idiot, it's her right to tell whoever she wants whenever she wants and, second of all, you are in no way entitled to judge who she can or can't hang out with," Wonwoo told him. "I don't know what you came to your mind just now, but I don't want to see that Mingyu ever again or else I will smack his sense back to him, am I understood?"
Mingyu nodded while we all stared at the scene in front of us beyond shocked. Wonwoo and Mingyu had never had such an encounter and it being because of me made me feel really guilty,
"Wonwoo, leave him. It's okay," I said grabbing Wonwoo's arm and pulling him away from Mingyu. "He was just angry and didn't know what he was doing."
"I'm sorry, Eunji..." Mingyu apologised.
"Okay!" Joshua suddenly spoke up as he came back to his senses. "Everyone, rehearsal is over! Someone take Yerin home and, Eunji, you are coming with me straight home!"
