Times Change

Once upon a time, people were happy,
All families lived in perfect houses,
Celebrations constantly turned sappy,
Marriage led to cheery, perfect spouses.

The Golden Ages quickly came and went,
The yellow Sun scorched the drought-ridden fields,
Ruin left everyone without a cent,
Fear led to hatred as soldiers yield shields.

Warriors fought on bloodied battlegrounds,
Folks cried rivers over fallen heroes,
Soldiers bought more murdering bullet rounds,
Populations quickly fall to zeroes.

Time continues to pass and people change,
Thinking shifts, people move and rearrange.
