Stay

I didn't think it would hurt this much.
I always thought it would be easy, simple, and such.
Music quiets the voices that fill my head.
But the screams fill me with dread.
I should feel relieved like the others.
Now you can't overhear my mutters.
Still, I feel remorse.
I didn't let love run its course.
But I've made mistakes before.
And I'll probably make more.
I wanted to tell you how much I love your art.
But we're a million worlds apart.
Somedays I feel like Michael in the bathroom,
While I'm crying in the classroom.
But your smile makes it okay,
Makes all the pain go away.
Please stay.
Show me the way.
