Words Fail

My voice turns to molasses.

Words stick in my throat.

Silence hangs in the air

As I stumble over imprisoned letters.

Vowels sever my vocal cords.

Consonants cling to my tongue.

I'm trapped in my mind.

I can't say what matters most.

And in the end

Words fail.
