Chapter Fourteen

Natsu Dragneel

I awoke in the nicest way possible: a pillow being thrown at my face. Note sarcasm.

I shot up into a sitting position lightning fast, not knowing where I was or even who I was. Yeah, I was that groggy when I wake up.

"Get up, loser. You've been sleeping for three hours," Gray said, standing at the foot of the bed. "It's dinner time, and you finally get to meet the famous Aunt Ur."

I rubbed my sleep-filled eyes and stared at the light blue walls for a second before sliding off the bed and running a hand through my hair. "I probably look like crap right now," I complained.

"You look like the same as always," Gray said with a hint of sadness before heading out of his bedroom. "Come on, let's go."

"What are we having?" I asked curiously, watching with awe as Gray spun back around with a devilish smirk apparent on his face.

"Lasagna," He chirped. "Duh."

I grinned and followed him as we thumped down the stairs and entered the kitchen. Ultear was setting the table, Lyon was trying to help, Silver had his back turned to us at the oven, and Mika was talking to a black-haired woman who looked like she was in her late twenties. Using my wonderful sense of deduction, I predicted that was Aunt Ur.

"Hey boys! Done with your homework?" Mika looked up from her cutting of green peppers.

"Yup," Gray nodded, dragging me to the kitchen table, which suited six people, but a stool was pulled up, making it seven. "Mom, is there an extra chair for Natsu?" Gray asked.

"Yes, honey, it's to the right of your chair," Mika answered humbly.

Gray took a seat that was by the window and I quietly sat down next to him, adjusting myself to get comfortable on the tiny stool.

"Mika, do you need any help with dinner?" I asked respectfully. Mika only smiled and shook her head.

"I'm fine, Natsu, dear. You sit tight with Gray. Dinner will be ready in about four minutes."

"Oh, that's Natsu?" Aunt Ur spoke up. "Hi! I'm Gray's aunt, Ur," she waved.

"Hello," I waved back shyly. Something about her seemed quite familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on it. It probably wasn't that big of a deal anyways, so I chose to ignore the nagging feeling and grabbed a carrot off the appetizer rack.

Soon enough, Silver had pulled the delicious combination of gooey cheese, meat, pasta sauce, and a sprinkle of oregano out of the oven. He put the piping-hot lasagna on a cooling rack and transferred it to the table, where all us kids were waiting impatiently. Mika then brought over the side dish of corn kernels and garlic bread.

"This looks so good!" I gushed, ignoring my grumbling stomach. "Thanks so much!"

"Aren't you just a polite boy?" Mika complimented, shooting a smile my way. "I see why Gray is so taken with you."

A dark blush filled my cheeks as Gray cried out in protest. "Ah, kidding, kidding," She laughed sheepishly.

"So, Natsu, tell us more about yourself," Silver asked as he passed the lasagna dish around so everyone could scoop out what they wanted.

"Oh, I'm not that interesting, really," I flushed, staring into my glass of ice water.

"I'm sure you are!" Silver argued playfully.
