❝ EVERY FATHER'S DAUGHTER ❞
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ⋆ ˖୨♡୧˖⋆ ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵

Most daughters would be attached to their mother's hip a thousand years ago. The girls followed through their mother's footsteps as the boys in the family sought guidance from their fathers.

When Esther gave birth to her third daughter, it was a miracle and a sight that the rest of the siblings found unforgettable. The moment the woman placed the baby in his arms Mikael couldn't help but feel entranced. His stone cold heart began to break down. The way her eyes twinkled full of vibrancy and life. There were the most beautiful greeb eyes he's seen.

Unlike Esther who always named his children, he took it upon himself to name his daughter. The others in the room stared at their father bewildered and shocked. Including Esther; the mother of his children never saw him look at their other children or have this behavior except with their firstborn.

He gave his daughter the name of a female warrior. "Lyanna Mikaelson." he proclaimed holding the baby now named Lyanna in his arms as if he was afraid she'll be snatched away from his grasp just like what happened to his firstborn Freya.

"I'm going to protect you little knight. I promise." he murmured, pressing a gentle soft kiss on her forehead on the sleeping baby.

Three year's later Henrick was born and everyone was happy despite Mikael's temper sparking fear in each family member including little Henrick and sometimes Lyanna. Even at a young age both of them knew of the harsh treatment Niklaus received from their father. Her curiousness got the best of her. She wanted to know why her father treated him with such cruelty.

"Papa why do you hate Niklaus?" innocent and naive thirteen-year-old Lyanna Mikaelson sat on a huge rock. She watched as he chopped up the piles of wood with ease.

Mikael raised the ax and let it stick onto the tree stump. He walked over to his child and kneeled down to her height. "Someday you'll understand little one. The boy is nothing but a coward."

He picked her up and threw her in the air, earning a laugh from the witch. "You, however, have the heart of a true warrior; powerful at that!" as he tickled her sides earning another squeal of laughter.

Lyanna held him tighter and laid her head on his shoulder. "Teach me how to fight then! I want to be just like you." Her doe eyes kindly looked up to her father's with a determination gaze that reminded him of Freya when he first asked him if she too could wield a sword.

Perhaps he could break the tradition, once for Lyanna.

The Heretic stayed cooped up in her room. Everyone was worried for their friend. Especially the Salvatore brothers since the moment they arrived home to find her bedroom locked.

Since then, Lyanna had been mourning for the loss of Mikael. They could never understand how she was capable of loving a vampire who hunted vampires but they saw from her point of view.

She lost a father.

"Baby open up." the sound of Bonnie Bennett reached her enhanced hearing. Lyanna lifted her head off the plush pillows and sniffled loudly. She used her magic to unlock the door letting Bonnie in.

Bonnie walked in to see Lyanna laying on the king sized bed in complete shambles. The Bennett's eyes softened seeing her love in this state of sadness. "Oh sweetie." she went over to the bed and began comforting the crying girl.

"He promised me. He said he wouldn't leave me alone!" Lyanna choked out, laying on top Bonnie, cuddling with her as her head rested on her chest. The Heretic's breathed unevenly, sensing another attack. Bonnie slowly rocked her body back and forth, trying to calm the brunette down. "Yet I can't help but think he deserved it after everything he's done when we were human."

"I know Anna," Bonnie wiped away the tears and pressed her forehead against Lyanna'.

Lyanna swollen eyes looked up at her, tears threatening to fall. "Please don't leave me too." she choked back a sob. Bonnie's brows furrowed and silenced the frail Salvatore with a passionate kiss.

She pulled away and said the words that lifted the weight off Lyanna' shoulders. "I will never leave you."

What do you all think, I feel like Mikael had it coming tbh. I don't accept child abuse. If there's anything lyanna didn't like it was violence between family members.
