Part 11 The Calm After The Storm!

PLACE: Beth's bedroom, home

Beth was crashed out on the bed after a night she would never forget. Kelly was home from shift and was getting changed into sweatpants. He tried his best not to disturb her, but he dropped a can of deodorant on the stupid wooden floor and woke her up.

BETH: Your back!

KELLY: Hey! Yeah, I'm sorry.

She took one look at him and burst into tears. Kelly was by her side within seconds.

KELLY: Beth, what's wrong?

He lay down on the bed and slipped his arm around her.

BETH: I've been up all night with such a bad headache! I didn't even go out with Sophie.

Kelly rubbed her head

KELLY: Oh baby, why didn't you call me?

BETH: There's nothing you could've done and I can't take anything strong because of the baby

KELLY: Has it gone now?

BETH: Not really.

KELLY: You still should've called me

BETH: I didn't want to bother you

KELLY: I like you bothering me! (smiling)

BETH: I missed you. It feels like I haven't seen you in ages

KELLY: It's only been twenty four hours

BETH: It Feels longer

He squeezed her tight and sighed to himself. Beth looked up at him, he was staring into space like something was on his mind.

BETH: Bad shift?

KELLY: Yeah, something like that

BETH: What happened?

KELLY: I'll tell you later.

He kissed her cheek.

KELLY: When was the last time you spoke to Shaylynn?

BETH: Yesterday, why?

KELLY: Nothing

Beth was worried now that Kelly knew something.

He squeezed her again

KELLY: Honey your shaking

BETH: I really need to sleep

KELLY: Well, lie in bed all day then. It's lucky we have Pamela and Fiona now to take care of the girls.

BETH: I'm not dumping the girls on them all day

KELLY: You're not dumping them, it's what we pay them for.

BETH: I suppose. Is Anton here yet?
