ROSE'S POV

After two moonlit nights the day we were waiting for since Christmas has finally arrived. On the previous day we got Connor's electronic passport, in the afternoon we packed the necessary things into the suitcases and in the evening we took our dogs to my uncle. Finally, the 29th day of December has arrived... Our flight left the airport at seven in the morning, we had a transfer in Los Angeles, then finally we arrived to the capital city of Hawaii at early in the afternoon. Due to the jet lag I was a little exhausted, because when our flight arrived to Honolulu it was only one o'clock in the afternoon on the island, but in Detroit it was already six o'clock in the evening. Once we left the airport we took a quick shopping in Honolulu, later we took a cruise to get to the Kauai Island, then finally we arrived to the holiday home which was on the sandy coast. By the time we unpacked our suitcases the sun was already going down, so soon the time has come to have dinner and we spent the rest of the day by the ocean.

"It's so beautiful..." Connor whispered with an honest smile on his face, while we were walking hand in hand in the sunset. He lost in the beauty of the landscape, just like me. "This is the first time that I see the sun and the stars at the same time..." he added as I looked up at the sky. I instantly saw the constellation of the Orion, the Phoenix and the Aquarius, but the wonderful view was only a part of the miracle.

"Close your eyes." I asked him with a smile. Connor glanced at me and raised an eyebrow. "Trust me, Connor!" seconds later he was still looking at me questioningly, then finally he did as I asked. I gently grabbed his hands and went silent. "What do you hear?"

"The waves..." he answered in a whisper as a tiny smile appeared on his face. "The singing of the birds on the sky... The echo of the drums in the distance... The beating of my heart in my chest..."

"What do you feel?"

"The warm breeze on my face... The salty smell of the ocean... The sand under my feet... Your hand in my hand..."

"And what do you see?" I asked him with full of curiosity. I wanted to know how the sounds and scents affect his imagination. 'Can you imagine what you can't see?'

"The foam of the ocean... The golden brown horizon... The constellation of the Leo and the Virgo... The pale moon... The flames of the torches... And you... I see you..." Connor whispered with a sincere smile, the finally opened his fascinating chocolate brown eyes. The sun wasn't on the sky anymore. The golden rays disappeared behind the horizon and their place was taken over by silver veil. Minutes later we were still admiring as the ocean was basking in the moonlight, then finally we left the coast...

The sun was already high up on the sky when I woke up. I slowly opened my eyes, then glanced at Connor who was stroking my tangled hair.

"Good morning, Rose!" he greeted me with a happy smile on his face, then pulled me closer.
