Chapter 16

Y/n's POV

"...."

"Oi..."

"WATER WITCH!"

My eyes flew open, my body jerking up instinctively. I looked around, confused.

Someone was standing in front of me.

"Why the fuck am I the one always stuck with your dumb ass?!" Bakugo shouted at me, making an explosion in front of us.

I started coming to my senses, looking around us.

The...villains are... winning...?

I looked around Bakugo, seeing All Might fighting against a Nomu as Tomura watched, grinning.

Students were being backed into corners by villains as they fought.

I bit the inside of my lip.

"This isn't right." I mumbled, shaking. "This has to stop." My eyes filled with tears.

I slowly clenched my fist as I stood up.

My eyes started to glow.

Bakugo looked at me, an eyebrow raised, his signature frown on his face.

All the villains stopped moving.

Everyone else was looking around, wide eyed.

I took deep breaths, my body shaking.

What's going on..? I thought٫ scared. They stopped moving..?
The villains looked like they were glowing blue.
My mouth started to dry up. I licked my lips. I couldn't move my body.
I'm overusing my quirk... Am I doing this?

I was dehydrating fast.

"Shit..." I said shakily. My legs were wobbling. "I can't...do this..." I whispered.
I looked at Bakugo pleadingly as if he could help me in any way.
Red and blue lights flashed outside. Moments later, cops started swarming the building. I fell to my knees, coughing and gasping for air.

The villains regained their mobilility.

A purple void formed in the center of the building. The villains started trying to run into it to escape the cops.
I saw Tomura's face as he stood infront of the void. His lips moved as he grinned, disappearing into the void.

My eyes filled with tears.

I soon realized Bakugo's arm was around me, trying to steady me.
He helped me stand.

Police rushed over to us. 

They began questioning us about everything that had happened today. I answered as little as possible.
My throat was so dry it hurt speaking.

I noticed Bakugo hadn't left my side since the police arrived.

Maybe I was overthinking it.

Soon, it was time to go.

We walked behind everyone together.

He grabbed my hand, stopping me.

"Hah?" I only managed to make a sound.

He handed me a water bottle. I took it hesitantly, then began chugging it.
"Th-ank y-ou." I panted.

"Whatever." He shrugged. I turned to leave, when he grabbed my wrist again. "Oi..."

I flinched.

"Um...yeah?" I asked hesitantly.

"What was it?" He asked.
I blinked.
"Don't fucking play dumb, Water Witch. I saw that bastard's mouth move. I know you saw it, too. What the fuck did he say?" He demanded. I gulped.

"H-he said..."

His lips moved as he grinned, disappearing into the void.

"This isn't over."

"This...isn't over." I whispered quietly, my eyes tearing up. "That means...he's coming back again."

He began walking ahead of me.
I stood there, dumbfounded. He stopped, turning around and looking at me.

"Oi, you comin' or not? I'm not waiting all day for your slow ass." He said, turning back around and walking.

I jogged up next to him.

"You're nicer than I thought, Bakugo." I whispered.

"What the FUCK did you just say?!" He growled at me.

"Nothing~" I smiled٫ looking down.

Everyone loaded onto the bus.

I stared down at my hands.

I was able to hold them all still for a few seconds... I looked at my hands curiously, turning them over. Since when was I able to do that...?

"Y/n, are you listening to meeee?!" A voice whined.
I looked up in front of me to see Mina, pouting.

"Sorryyyy. What'd you say? I zoned out." I asked, shrugging.

On the way back to school, she sat across from me, while next to me sat...

"You're so fucking deaf٫ Water Witch." The blonde huffed.

...that thing.

"Whatever." I sighed, looking at Mina and smiling, urging her to continue.

"I didn't know you could do that with your quirk. Why didn't you tell me your quirk was so cool?!" She beamed, grinning.

"That's cause... I didn't know I could." I mumbled, embarrassed.
I yawned, stretching.

In that process, I accidentally elbowed Bakugo in the face.

"WATER WITCH!" He shouted. "DO YOU WANNA FUCKIN DIE?"

I looked him in the eyes, my eyes shining brightly.

"Yes. Please, kill me. I beg you." I said.

He froze.

I started laughing.

"Fuckin dumbass." I laughed.

"Shut the fuck up." He snapped, turning away.

I shook my head, smiling.

I leaned my head back.

"Ima take a nap." Was all I said before falling asleep.
