Chapter 50

I shot upright, catching my heavy breathing. Beads of sweat rolled down my already wet face as I shake my head in an attempt to erase the fresh memories of the nightmare. I curled my naked body into a ball, hugging myself.
I should have brought my meds.

I crane my neck towards my left to find him fast asleep, the face was flushed against the soft pillow with his mouth slightly open, making him look adorable. I couldn't help but smile. He really has a way to my heart.

God, I am so fucked up!

I thread my fingers through his soft hair, reminiscing everything. Last night after our round three, we lay in each other's arm as I watch him animatedly talk about his game, about us, about everything. Last night was indeed the best night of my life if I exclude the whole Sophie fiasco.

I am so in love with this obnoxious, narcissistic arsehole that it scares me. I promised that I won't show him how vulnerable he makes me but last night I let him crack my walls and I confessed him.
We confessed.

Shaking my head I tried to climb off the bed but I felt excruciating pain between my legs.
God, he seriously fucked me hard. And I loved every bit of it.
With wobbly legs, I grabbed my belongings. Chole is going to kill me for ruining her dress. I slipped into his t-shirt n pants which were double my size and garbed the keys to his car.

I don't want to leave but I've to.

I kissed his forehead.
Good night Alex.

With a final glance, I walked out of his room.

"Becca! Speed limit!"

"Stop shouting Alexander! You are distracting me!"

Riding motorcycle past midnight was definitely not my idea. Alex showed up at my place, mad about me leaving him without informing. As usual, I came up with fake reasons, of course, we had an argument over it. And as a punishment, he asked me to tag along with him for this bike ride. And the stormy weather is not helping.

"Brake baby brake! Left! Left, left!"

"What?!"

Brake or left.

Amidst the shouting and confusion, I heard loud honking and noticed a big truck racing towards her and that froze me.

Something inside me felt different as if this is my chance. Chance to get what I want. Chance to end the miserable thing. Chance to quit.

No! I can't! I can't risk Alex's life.

Out of panic, I clutched the accelerator tightly only to make things worse.
Shit! Before I could lose balance and control, I felt one strong hand enclosing around mine and the bike was swerve left and off the road.

The truck passed beside us with a whoosh.

"Were you out of your mind!" Alex shouted driving further into the forest. He took over the control of the bike and his front was pressed against my rear.

I would have never forgiven myself for risking his life.

The bike came to halt as he parked it near a tree

"Becca?" He cupped my face forcing me to turn my head.

"I am so sorry. I got confused"

He shakes his head.
"Don't be so careless"
He helped me to climb off the bike.

"I am not"

He tugged my hand revealing the cuts over my palm and wrist.
The deep cuts. He couldn't notice it last night, but he did it in the morning when he showed up at my place unannounced. As usual, I covered the outcome of my insanity with a smooth velvet lie. I don't know how much he believed it.
