Live With Joy

Look around,
Think back on the day.
Did you notice anything,
Telling you to stay?

Or was your mind,
Stuck in a daze?
Was there anything happy,
To pull you out of this faze?

Gratitude, it's there,
Lurking beneath the skin.
Can be hard to locate where,
But it's almost filled to the brim.

Gaze at the sky,
Admire the stars.
This is beauty,
Not always afar.

Smell the green grass,
Feel it tickle your toes.
Hear the sound of a trumpet,
See a ruby red rose.

This is life,
Why we live it.
This is Joy,
How we should see it.

Don't grimace in pain,
As you think on your day.
Remember the smell,
Of the heavenly rain.

Your head warming up,
Beneath the sun's rays.
The wind caressing your cheek,
Overlooking calm bays.

Be grateful,
Grateful that you're here.
There are things far worse,
Than not being able to steer.

When you feel down,
Or lonely and gray.
Put on a smile,
Turn to the world and say:

This cannot stop me,
There's much more to be done.
I'm going to live with Joy,
And relax in the sun.

Happiness will soon find you,
Lounging around.
Watching the trees,
Staying firm on the ground.

It might not be fancy,
But it'll be nice.
Even if all you have to eat,
Is a small bowl of rice.

Live with Joy,
There's nothing else to be done.
Smile a little,
Even if you can't have tons of fun.

A simple mindset,
Can be changed just like that.
It'll make you happier,
But it can be lost, like that hat.

When you feel down,
Or lonely and gray.
Put on a smile,
Turn to the world and say:

This cannot stop me,
There's much more to be done.
I'm going to live with Joy,
And go for a nice long run.
