Apat na buwan na ang nakalipas at marami na ding nangyari.

I have been enrolled on a private school, still on Grade 12, STEM section.

Astrid has been real good to me. Hindi na niya ako pinipilit sa mga gusto niya. He also takes my suggestions. 

And Steven, was distant to me. Hindi ko na siya madalas na makita at kung magkita man kami, he always has excuses and would then leave. Si Astrid lang palagi ang kasama ko sa bahay and I can’t help but to need his presence. He’s been a good friend to me.

“Astrid, hon. Nasaan ba si Steven?” I asked one time when I can’t help it.

“He has worked. Let’s not talked about him.” I sighed when his voice was marked with finality.

Matamlay akong nagpatuloy sa pagkain. He immediately hold my hand.

“Hon he is just on worked. I’m sorry.”

“Goodmorning, ho-“ natigil ako nang makitang wala akong katabi. It’s 5 o’clock in the morning and Astrid wasn’t beside me. 

Maaga akong nagising. I can’t help but to feel excited and nervous at the same time. Dahil ngayon na ako makikipag-usap kay Astrid. I washed away the negative thoughts on my mind. Pero nasaan siya?

Nagsuot ako ng roba at nagmamadaling bumaba. I search for him on dining area, on the kitchen, on the sala, on every corner on the mansion. But there’s no trace of him.

Bigo akong naupo sa sofa. Was is he doing early this morning? Maybe work? I remembered one time, he went home 4:30 am because of work.

I stopped my thoughts when my phone ring. Binilhan ako ni Astrid nito para may contact siya akin. I honestly feel old when I first used this. It was my first time owning a touchscreen. And I don’t even know how to open it! Mabuti nalang at tinuruan ako ni Astrid.

Surprisingly hindi si Astrid ang tumawag. It was Steven.

“Steven!” Hindi ko mapigilang ang saya sa tinig ko.

Tumawa naman ito.

“Goodmorning, Senyora. It’s been a long time.” He playfully said.

“Bakit ngayon ka lang ulit tumawag? At bakit hindi na kita nakikita palagi dito? Nasaan ka ba?” Sunod-sunod kong tanong.

“I concentrated on my work, Senyora. And you know. Astrid is threatened on me.”

Kumunot ang noo ko. “Threatened?”

“He’s jealous on me Senyora.” Humalakhak ito. “Baka daw maagaw ka sa kanya.”

Huminga ako ng malalim. I need to tell him. 

“Astrid? Ngayon ko na gagawin.”

Natahimik siya sa sinabi ko.

“Hey?”

“Still here.”

“Do you know where Astrid is, Steven?” I slowly said. 

“Hindi ko na ba mababago ang isip mo?” He questioned me instead of answering mine.

“Steven. Alam mo naman diba. I want to make things right.” Nahihirapang kong sabi. Astrid has been also special to me. Marami pa ding akong katanungan tungkol sa katauhan niya, but I choose not to doubt. Just like how I choose to trust Steven.

He sighed in defeat. “Sige. I know where Astrid is. I’ll text you the address.”

Napangiti ako sa sinabi niya. “Pwede ko na bang ngayon gawin?”

“Yes. Goodluck then, Senyora.” He said before ending the call.
