“Senyora.” All my thoughts stopped when Steven called me.
Ginawa niya ang sa tinging niyang tama. Yes. And that’s when I realized that we can’t trust anyone. Even ourselves. I choose to trust Steven. Then this has become my fate.
Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. “Yes?”
Tinignan niya ako ng matagal bago nagsalita.
“Tell me the truth.”
“I’m tired playing dumb, Steven.” Nagulat ito sa sinabi ko. I wearily smiled at him.
Hinaplos ko ang mukha ni Astrid bago nagpatuloy.
“Alam kong marami kayong lihim dalawa. And to tell you frankly, I can’t trust you anymore. Kung tutuusin kayang kaya ko ng tumakas Steven. Pero nanatili ako diba?”
Hindi ko na pinagpatuloy ang sasabihin ko. I raised my hand to signal him I’m leaving.
“Uuwi na ako. Just call me when he wakes up.”
“It’s still dangerous Aiya. Cien-“
“Hindi niya ako sasaktan.” Natahimik ito sa sinabi ko.
If you wouldn’t help me Steven, I’ll find the missing pieces myself.
