Chapter 4

[Chaeyoung's POV]

As I was driving Mina home, I ask her who is that guy earlier.

"Huh? Him? He's just one of my suitor." Mina said and I glanced at her.

"Really?" I asked and she nodded.

"Don't lie to me, Mina." I said and she shook her head.

"I wasn't lying. He just become more psychopathic because I didn't accept him." Mina said and I hold her hand.

"It's okay. I will protect you from him now." I said and she smiled.

I then grabbed onto the steering wheel with one of my hand and continue to drive.

When we reached Mina's house, I pulled over and looked over at her.

"Does that guy have your phone number?" I asked and she nodded.

"Initially, I don't know that he is such a psychopathic guy and he looks normal and decent to me so I gave him my number. Who knows after that, he start to spam me and as the time goes, he started sending me inappropriate texts so I blocked him." Mina said and I nodded.

"If he ever come to find you again, tell me. I will go and teach him a lesson." I said and Mina smiled.

"The blissful feeling of having a boyfriend." Mina said and I smiled back.

I cupped her cheek and give her a peck on the forehead.

"Go and rest. I think you must be tired." I said and she nodded.

"You too. When you reach home, please text me." Mina said and I nodded.

"Love you. See you tomorrow." I said and she repeated the same thing before she got off the car.

After I confirmed that she went in her house, I then drive off.

When I reached home, I immediately took out my phone and texted Mina.

After I texted her, I put my phone aside and went to bath.

After bathing, I went to eat my food that grandma prepared for me and went to the living room to watch tv.

While I was watching, grandma came and sat down beside me.

"Chaeyoung-ah, I heard from your dad that you have a new secretary and you two went out for lunch together is it?" Grandma asked and I nodded.

"Yup. Why?" I asked.

"Well, do you have any of her photo?" Grandma asked and I went to get my suitcase.

I then took out all the files I have in my suitcase and took the files that have the past interviewees.

I flipped to the page where it is Mina's CV and let grandma see.

"This is a photo of her." I said and passed grandma the file.

She took it and looked at the photo closely before passing back to me.

"Hmm... I don't think she's suitable for you." Grandma said and I furrowed my eyebrows slightly.

"Why would you say that?" I asked.

"Just instinct." Grandma said.

"But I love her." I said and grandma shook her head.

"You can't. She's not suitable for you." Grandma said and left.

'What is grandma even thinking?' I thought and sighed.

I then keep the files and continue watching the tv.

But my mind is not on the tv but on what grandma said.

After a few hours, I had my dinner and went to my room to work.

About 2 hours passed by and I decided to sleep.

I then turned off the lights and went to sleep.

The next morning

I went to work and saw Mina working diligently on her desk.

"Morning. You're early." I said and smiled to her.

"You're here. By the way, your coffee is already on the table." She said and I nodded.

I then went in my office and took a sip of warm coffee before I turned on my laptop and start working.

A few hours have passed and there's still many work to do.

Mina came in and update me about my schedule.

"Are you going for lunch later?" Mina asked and I shook my head.

"Most probably no. There's still a lot more work to do." I said and she nodded.

"Take a break. Working for hours will hurt your eyes and it will be bad for your health. Do something stretching in between before you continue working." Mina said and I nodded.

She then left and very soon, lunch time came.

Someone knocked the door a few times before opening it.

"Do you want anything? Sandwich or snacks?" Mina asked and I shook my head.

"It's okay." I said.

"You can't work without eating for a few hours. I will buy a sandwich back. You better eat it." Mina said and I sighed before nodding.

She then left and after a few minutes, I managed to finished the document.

I then decided to take a break so I went to the nearby minimart go buy some drinks.

When I was about to head back to the company, Mina called me.

I then picked up the call.

"Hello?"

"Did you take a break? I don't want your eyes to get damaged."

"Yeah... I'm actually outside now. I went to nearby minimart and bought a bottle of water."

"Good... I've bought egg sandwich for you."

"Thank you, my sweet girlfriend."

"Your welcome..."

"Eyy... I can feel you blushing while smiling shyly there."

"Stop teasing me."

"Fine fine... By the way, where are you now? I'm already on my way back to the company."

"I am almost reaching the company."

"Oh, we are quite close already."

"Really?"

I then saw her figure in front while talking on the phone.

"Yeah..." I decided to sneak up behind her and give her a surprise.

When she's crossing the road, she didn't watch where she's going and a truck drive very quickly.

The driver start honking and Mina froze at her place.

I quickly run up to her and pushed her away before feeling a strong impact.

I felt myself flying and landed hard on the ground.

I vomited blood out and I heard Mina shouted my name.

"Chaeyoung-ah! Stay awake!" Mina exclaimed while typing something on her phone with her hand shaking.

After Mina called the ambulance, she is crying so bad while looking at me.

"Don't... Cry..." I said and smiled weakly.

"You dumb... Why did you do that?" Mina asked with her shaking voice.

"Because I... Love you..." I managed to say before losing conscious.

"Chaeyoung!" Mina exclaimed and I completely lose my senses.
