Chapter X: Time Is Up
Bella's POV
White ceiling met my eyes as I woke up from my deep slumber. I felt something wet and soft between my fingers. It's strange and sticky. I checked what and where was the unappealing sensation coming from, and that's when I saw Ruru beside my bed licking my fingers. Si Ruru lang pala.
Umupo ako mula sa pagkakahiga at tulalang tumitig sa kawalan. Parang may mali?
Wait a minute? Ano ang ginagawa ng aso ni Gino dito sa kwarto ko?
"Nana? Bakit may aso dito!" Walang sumasagot sa tanong ko.
I don't know if it's just me or my room just got a bit widder.
Napagpasyahan kong hindi na lang ito pansinin at bumalik sa pagkakahiga, pero bago pa man ako tuluyang makapikit ay may kung anong makinang na bagay ang uamagaw sa atensyon ko.
Hmm, I don't remember having a mirror this size inside my room. Also if you think of it, a lot of things changed in my room--the arrangement, the smell, including my stuff. And that's when realization struck me. This is not my room! That would explain the dog beside my bed. Muli akong napaupo dahil sa napagtanto.
The room was wide and a small book shelf was place in one corner together with a study table just beside it. In the right side of the room laid an enormous painting of an old guy probably in his fifties wearing a tuxido.
Despite the wrinkles on his face I could say that this guy is very handsome even for his age. Beneath the painting is a table with flower vase neatly arranged on top. There's also a white door in the west side which I assume as the door to the bathroom.
Maliwanag na ang araw na nakadungaw sa isang malaking bintana sa harap nitong king sized bed kung saan ako kasalukuyang nakaupo. Maayos rin na nakabuka ang pares ng kurtina sa gilid nito kung saan buo kong nakikita ang isang malawak na balkonahe sa labas.
How the hell did I get here? And where the heck am I?
I tried to recall my last memory before I got here and it was only then that I remembered what actually happened--the guy in the mask, the briefcase and also... Vee!
Vee is in danger! I need to help her!
Dali-dali akong napatayo mula sa pagkakaupo ko sa kama at mabilis na nagtungo palabas ng pinto. I don't care how messy my hair looks like or what my breath smells like. The deal here is Vee is in danger. I should not waste time. Who knew kung anong maaaring nangyari sa kanya at worst baka--no, no, no, hindi maaari.
Bago ko pa man mapihit ang door knob isang matangkad na lalaki ang sumalubong sa akin mula sa kayumangging pinto.
"Bella, I knew you're awake. I thought I heard something"
"Rino? what are you doing here? And where on earth am I? "
"Jezz, relax. You're in our house. Just relax. First take a seat. Marami kang dapat ikwento sa akin. "
"I don't have time to take a seat. A friend of mine is in grave danger Rino! Help me."
"Okay-okay, but please calm down for a minute. Being hysterical will not help you." Sinunod ko ang sinabi niya at mahinahong bumalik sa kama at umupo. Hindi ko maiwasang mag-isip ng kung ano-anong posibilidad na maaaring nangyari sa kanya. Kahit hindi ko siya ganoon ka-close, isa pa rin siya sa mga taong pinapahalagahan ng ate ko kaya kailangan ko siyang pahalagahan.
