Miles POV:

I sat by the pool waiting for Frankie to come home from school. Lola and I had been oomphchatting for a while to pass the time.

She soon came through the back looking all skittish when she saw me, or maybe it wasn't even about me. I had no interest in finding out. She turned threw her bag down and sighed sitting into the chair next to me looking at her phone.

"So, Olivia's back at school." I mumbled to her. She gave me a little glance up over her screen before setting it down.

"You saw her? She looks better doesn't she-" Frankie enthused but I cut her off.
"Why didn't you tell me, Franks?" I asked demanding to know.

"Never seemed like the right time to talk to you, not like I got much considering you've been writing that play in your room or going out to work for the last couple of weeks

"Never seemed like the right time to talk to you, not like I got much considering you've been writing that play in your room or going out to work for the last couple of weeks. Like, a lot ." She defended.

"Look I know I don't react the best to thing half the time but I can handle knowing that she's gonna be walking around school again

"Look I know I don't react the best to thing half the time but I can handle knowing that she's gonna be walking around school again. If anything, a little warning would have been helpful." I sighed. I wasn't even mad anymore I was just deflated. I wish I could of said something to her, well done, for starters. I'm so proud of you. Maybe to break this distance.

"I didn't even know if you cared, you never showed for mum's meal and you both have barely mentioned her." Frankie shrugged and I felt the frustration arise a little.

The odds had been entirely against me that day every action I'd chosen had felt like the wrong one that left me with the worse off outcome. As much as I WANTED to help Lola and her work, what I NEEDED was to have been at home.
