Andrea: Here I come!

I cover my mouth in order not to laugh as my sister tries to find me.

The closer she got the longer I held my breath.

Andrea: Found you!

We both start laughing.

Ella: Okay. Now it's your turn to hide and I'll count.

Andrea: Okay!

I close my eyes and start counting.

Ella: 18.. 19.. 20! Here I come!

I turn my head and start looking around the forest.

Minutes passed and I still couldn't find her.

Ella: Andrea?

Nothing.

All of a sudden I hear what sounded like a splashing sound.

I follow the sound and found a lake.

The water was moving as if someone had just jumped in.

I smirk and make my way to the water to find my little sister.

Ella: I found you so you can come out now.

I waited for her to pop out of the water but she never did.

Ella: Andrea?

I bend down to get a closer look at the water only to see bubbles.

Ella: Come on.. you know I can't swim.

The water starts to move and I see blonde hair rise from the water.

My eyes widened as I see an unfamiliar girl stick her head out of the water.

She smiles at me and tilts her head.

Girl: I know where Andrea is. I can help you find her if you want.

She sticks her hand out towards me.

Girl: Just take my hand and we'll go together.

I look at her hand and slowly rise mine.

??: NO!!

I jump a little at the sound of the loud voice.

I turn my head and see a boy standing on the other side of the lake.

But before I could react, the girl grabs my hand and pulls me into the water.

The cold water send shocks of what felt like electricity through my body.

I open my eyes and try to get used to the water.

Once they adjust, I let out a scream by what was in front of me.

It was the girl who pulled me into the water.

Her eyes were a bright purple. And instead of legs, she had a tail.

A mermaid.

My grandmother warned me about them.

Sure mermaids may seem like innocent creatures, but I assure you that they aren't.

They are the complete opposite of innocent.

They use their looks and their charms to lure you in. And once they have you where they want you, they kill you by drowning you and then eating you.

Yes, they eat you.

They don't care your age or what you look like. Their just looking for someone to fill their hunger.
