I stood in the doorway of Asani's bedroom and watched him sleep. My nightmares were officially back so I didn't sleep much. I didn't want him to know because he sleeps better when we sleep together.

I used his guess bathroom to get dress and my bags were already packed in the car. It didn't take long for me to be done. I sighed sitting at the kitchen island thinking. I decided to leave him a note so he wouldn't worry about me. I picked up a pen and began writing on a blank piece of paper.

Asani,

I'm going away for a few days. I promise it's not for a "mission" or whatever. I won't go near either of them. I just need to get away for a minute and clear my mind. I haven't felt these thing I'm feeling  in a while. I got a lot to think about and I can't do it here. I need space for myself to be clear. It's only until Sunday. Please don't call me and let everyone know the same. If you need me sent me a text. If you call I'll know it's an emergency. Rest well. Hopefully I'll have a surprise for you when I come back.

Simply,

I let the note under my car/house keys before heading out. I took out my spare and headed to the airport. It was on my mind heavy to get this done.

I thought about the note as I waited on my flight to leave. I felt bad because I knew it was misleading. Asani would think I was rethinking my plain. Unfortunately, it was the only way I knew he'd give me space to do what I needed to do. I shook my head as the plane ascending into the air. I was in a section alone so I decided to try and sleep.

I woke up to the stewardess smiling at me. The plane was empty, shocking me.

"You look like you needed to rest" the older lady smiled "Whatever you're dealing with, it'll work out. Just don't rush"

She walked away to the back of the plane. I shrugged before grabbing my two duffles and heading out. I went threw the mundane hustle and bustle of the airport process before finally getting to my rental. I went with a Nissan infinity that looked brand new. I had to play the persona well to get what I wanted.

I drove remembering the letters and phone calls I have sent this woman for weeks now. It was hard to get her to believe me. Apparently, her father told her about the existence of his youngest child but nothing more. I finally got to her when I offered to send her some money to help her out with the bills. I knew her house was paid for so the money would more than likely go to drugs. I didn't know how addicted she was but I would push my luck.

I was meeting her at the Family Safety Center where she had visits with her daughter. She wanted to introduce me to her case worker and provide my information because they wanted a new family member on file. My new persona was the only "straight arrow" she was related to. After taking her to a doctor whose nurse I paid off, we had paperwork showing DNA relation.

When I pulled up, I stepped out straightening up my hoodie and taking off my shades. I headed towards her with a smile and watched relief cover her face. She ran up and pulled me into a hug, surprising even me.

"It's good to finally meet you Angel" I spoke into her ear "Crazy ain't it"

"I'm just glad you're here... it's like I have nobody now"
