He's Your Neighbor

I sat on the couch with my laptop on my lap, typing away at this research paper due in 3 hours. It was currently 9 pm and 3 days since my disastrous date with Sammy. Wanna know what happened? Not really? Not even a little bit? Well, I'm gonna tell you anyway.

    FLASHBACK and if you have a problem with someone of the same sex liking you or wanting to be with you. I suggest you skip this because I don't have time for homophobia. THANKS

The professor said their finishing statement and I gathered my things before leaving the room.  "Hey. (Y/N), " I turn around and see Jade, a girl who has had a crush on me for as long as I can remember. I mean she is pretty with short, curly brunette hair. Caramel-colored eyes and a dimpled smile. Her body was lean and tattoos in random places.

    "Hey, Jade. What's up, " I ask her. She smiles at me. "Are you busy later, " I look at her, sighing.
   "I'm having dinner with a friend later. I can't tonight, "  She pouts. "You say that every time. I ask you to hang out with me, "  I twist my face and place my hand on her shoulder. "But I really do have something today. We can hang out Saturday, " I nod to her before leaving.

I walked down the steps with my books in hand. " (Y/N)! Over here, " I turn to see Sammy leaning on his car. Making my way to his car, he meets me halfway. "H-, " He cut me off with a kiss on my lips. My eyes were wide in shock. I pushed on his chest and he slowly pulled away.
    "What the hedgehog was that, " I say to him. "What? You didn't like my greeting, " He asked me. I sigh before walking towards his car. "Are you really mad, " I get in as soon as he unlocks the door.
   "No. I'm not mad, " He glanced over at me with a smirk on his face. "I promise we are going to have fun tonight, "  "Just like how you promise your music won't be loud almost every night, "
    "It got your attention didn't it, (Y/N), " I laugh at his remark. He was going to say something before someone honked at him.

   We are currently in a studio where he practices and records with his band. I sat on the couch as he worked at the sound station or whatever it's called. I dug through my purse for a book I was currently reading. Suddenly feet appeared in front of me and hands were on my thighs. I looked up without tilting my head and Sammy was just smiling at me.

 
   "I get it. You have a nice smile but stop smiling at me. It's weird, " His face turns a light shade of pink and he leans back into the chair. "Where do you wanna go? I'm almost finished here, " Sammy clears his throat while running a hand through his hair. "Surprise me, " I say before the door bursts open revealing a girl.

 
  "Sammy! I missed you so much baby, " She walks over and hugs him, kissing all over his face.
    "Baby, " I ask with a raised eyebrow. I grab my stuff and cross my arms glaring at him.
"(Y/N). I can explain, " He pants after she basically took his breath away.
    "Who's she, " She asked.
    "I'm his neighbor and I was just leaving, " I walk out of the room slamming the door.

END OF FLASHBACK

So apparently, ol' dude had a girlfriend and neglected to tell me that. I was so pissed. I did not want to be that girl and be labeled as someone who goes after people with fame or attention. I do not have time for that. He's so cute though.

 
     Suddenly, my doorbell goes off and I sigh forcing myself off the couch. "I'm coming, " I yell.
Swinging open the door, Jade was standing in front of me with a paper bag in her hand. "What took you so long, " I groaned. "I had to get something from the store before bringing the ice cream, " I nod and invite her in.
"So, have you spoken to him, " Jade asks. I grab a spoon and take the ice cream out of the bag. "No. I plan to but he hasn't been home lately, " "Oh, "
"Is this chocolate? I don't like chocolate ice cream, " I whine after eating the creamy dessert without looking.
"You complain about everything, " Jade snaps.
"So? You had no problem with that until we started hanging out, " I roll my eyes.
We stand there glaring at each other until Jade breaks away from my glare and grabs her stuff. "Where are you going, " I ask following after her.
"I'm leaving. You need to stop being such a brat and go talk to him. Maybe getting some will stop you from whining so much, " She yells opening the door. I gasp, covering my mouth.
"Excuse you. I do get some...not very often but I do, " I yell back at her. She rolls her eyes and gets into her Jeep. I watch as she drives off with my arms crossed and a pout on my face.
"Are you okay, " I look up to see Sammy with a guitar case over his shoulder. He was wearing a simple outfit of plain jeans, a blue hoodie, and a black Converse.
"Not really, " I whisper. "I can't hear you. What did you say, " His footsteps grow louder as he makes his way to my welcome mat. I stuff my hands into the pockets of my PJs, drawing circles with my bedroom slippers. "It's nothing. Do you want to come inside, " I ask him, raising my head up to look at him. He just stands there with a soft smile on his face. "Sure, " I blush as he follows me inside.

2 Hours Later

He explained to me that they broke up months ago but she was still hung up on him. I felt bad for not letting him explain himself so I made him cookies, I'm not a very good baker but I can sure as hell cook! So they were a little burnt but he still ate them. We were sitting on the couch watching re-runs of Tom and Jerry. My head rested on his shoulder, a fluffy blanket covering us and Lemon lay next to me with her head in my lap.
"Thank you, " He whispers. "For what, " I turn to look at him. I expected him to answer but instead, he kissed my forehead, biting my bottom lip I shut my eyes, blushing once again.
"Stop, " I whine. "What did I do, " Sammy chuckles. "You know what you're doing. Don't make me tell Lemon on you, " I warn. "I am not afraid of -, " I cut him off. "Give him kisses Lemon, " I yell before she jumps onto the couch and licks all over his face. I laugh until my stomach cramps.
