I woke up to at least 6 different texts from the group chat. It was mainly Kaminari asking about homework. He's funny but I question his intelligence at times. He also asked how to spell waffles, I worry for him sometimes. I shook my head and got dressed. Today was finally Friday. It felt like this week has dragged on forever. I went downstairs and had a small breakfast because I actually had time for once. I left a bit early just in case Bakugo tried to wait for me again. I just didn't want to see him after yesterday. I made my way to school by myself. I could remember the way, it wasn't difficult and the school was rather large so you can see it from a distance. I passed by the woods from yesterday. I stopped for a moment, the events of yesterday playing in my head. I went to the tree to look at it again. I went up to it and brushed my finger tips over the area of missing bark where I had punched. While I was looking at the tree stuck in my thoughts, a dark hooded figure came up behind me. The figure tried to grab me, I ducked just in time to avoid his arms. I was terrified, I sprinted to the school. I didn't stop until I got there. My lungs were burning by the time I arrived. I put my hands on my knees. I was red in the face, gasping trying to catch my breath. Kiri suddenly appeared out of nowhere, by my side. "A-are you okay sir? What happened? Do you need to see the nurse?" He bombarded me with questions. "K-Kiri I'm fine, just give me a second" I was still breathing very heavily. "Y-y /n?! Is that you?!" He basically screeched in my ear. "Uh duh? Of course it's me. I straightened my uniform out. I looked at my hand and started freaking out. "I'M FUCKING INVISIBLE!!! What the hell?!" I started freaking out. I've never been able to do this before. "How do it turn back?!" I grabbed kiri's shirt collar freaking out and shaking him. "H-how should I know? It's your quirk!" I let go of him. "Sorry bro, I've just never done this before." I said sheepishly. I calmed down a bit and we walked to the nurse together. "Ah, come in sweethearts. What's wrong?" The nurse said in a very sweet and kind voice. "Um I turned invisible a-and I can't turn back." I tried to steady my voice but I was still a bit shaken up. "Have you come in contact with anyone, especially children, that may have used their quirk on you?" I thought about the man this morning. "Well sort of, I was almost attacked this morning by a stranger but he never made contact or even really looked at me. At least directly. Otherwise, no." I tried racking my brain for anything, some type of plausible explanation to this, but nothing came to mind. "Well it is possible for people to have more than one quirk. There are people who don't discover their quirks till they're adults or teenagers. Although there are very few cases of that happening, it is still possible. I sat down on a cot and started to take some deep breaths. I finally calmed myself down enough to were I could go to class. "Um Y/N?" "Yeah?" " you're normal again." Kirishima was staring at me with wide eyes. I breathed a deep sigh of relief. "So if this is your own quirk, you might want to try and use it so you can gain control over it. That person who attacked you may have triggered this quirk as a defense mechanism." She told me before sending us off to class. I made my way to class quickly, I parted ways with Kirishima and made my way inside the classroom as quickly as I could. I didn't say anything, I just handed my teacher the note the nurse wrote for me. Mei was sitting next to my usual seat. "Where were you?" She whispered to me. "I'll talk to you about it later." I whispered back, turning my eyes back to the board. Mei and I had grown pretty close lately. We exchanged numbers when we became partners for our project. Since then we started talking outside of school. It would usually start by us talking about the project and we would get sidetracked and end up talking about something completely unrelated for hours. I looked at the clock, it was almost lunch time. Our teacher started to wrap up the lesson. I quietly started to pack up and put my stuff away. When the bell rang, I stopped Mei before she could leave the classroom. "Hey, could I sit with you at lunch today? I could tell you about why I was late." I gave her a small smile. "Of course! But what happened to your old table? Did something happen?" She questioned. We started walking to the cafeteria. "It's a pretty long story and I honestly don't really wanna talk about it." I cast my gaze onto the floor. I truly did not want to talk about it. I also didn't want her to get involved in this shitty drama.

We were just making small talk while getting our food. Nothing to really talk about, I would try to ask about her family but she would quickly change the subject or turn it around on me. I've got to give it to her, she's very good at things like that. I wonder if she has a bad home life. I really hope not, she doesn't deserve that. We sat down at her table with a few other kid from the support class. "So what happened today that you were late?" She asked before she took a bite of her meal. I scooted my chair closer to hers. "I don't really want everyone to know about this okay?" I said in a quiet voice, trying to make sure no one could hear us and that no one was listening. "I got it, my lips are sealed" she smiled brightly at me and then pretended to zip her lips up and lock them. I snickered at her childish antics. "Okay, this morning while I was walking here I was attacked. Someone tried to grab me but I couldn't see his face. I ran away to the school. Kirishima from 1-A saw me and tried to help me but he didn't know who I was cause I was invisible. I couldn't undo it so we went to the nurse." I stopped to take a few bites of my food. "And? What happened!" She exclaimed. We got a few odd looks from other kids. I gave her a look and held up my finger while I finished chewing. "Jesus dude! Be quiet!" I whisper yelled. "So I went to the nurse and she said it could be another quirk that was awakened or something like that." I looked at her. This is the quietest I've ever seen her, it's mega unnerving. She was just wide eyed, looking past me. I kept looking at her, I was getting pretty nervous because she always has something to say. Her face shifted from shock to this, almost unsettling, grin. She turned to me and said "you could be in the hero class now!" She grabbed my shoulders and said it louder. "You could be in the hero class now! Just like you wanted, right?!" She was grinning ear to ear. Now it was my turn to go wide eyed. I never thought of it like that. There is a girl like that in the hero course too. Maybe she's right. "Mei! I think maybe you're right! You're a genius!" I hugged her. I pulled back and she was smiling her normal cheery smile. "I'm glad someone realizes it!" She laughed. We finished our food and talked about how we could get me transferred in. I was so excited, this is my chance to become a real hero. Once we cleaned up our lunch we rushed to the principals office. Mei gave a strong knock on the door. He shouted through the door to come in. We walked in, "Please have a seat. So what do I owe the pleasure too." He said with a soft smile. He rested his arms on his desk. I looked at Mei, unsure of what to say. "Well, Mr. Principal, I think that we should reconsider Y/N's class placement. I think he should be put in the hero course." Mei had this very calm professional voice. She was sat up straight and had her fingers laced in her lap. "And why would that be. His quirk seems most fitted for the support class" Mr. Principal shifted his body to lean back in his chair. "That's the thing, we think he may have a duo quirk. He was able to turn invisible this morning as a defense mechanism." Mei kept a straight face this entire time. "Defense mechanism?" He questioned. "He was attacked on his way here this morning." He hummed in response. "I see, this is not the first time a student has been targeted on the way here. We are trying to come up with a way to keep our students safe on their way here." He explained. "So is this new quirk controllable, Mr. L/N?" I stuttered, "uh-h I mean I believe it is but since I just discovered it, I'm not sure how well I am able to use it." I tried to keep eye contact, eventually I just cast my gaze at my knees. "Well, I will definitely consider your request. Though I think you should gain better control over this quirk before i can confidently switch you to the hero course." He said with a smile. "T-thank you so much sir!" I sputtered. "Of course, now please return to class. Here's an excuse." He handed Mei a note. We walked out and closed his door. I squealed in excitement. "Thank you Mei, you have been an amazing friend. I really appreciate this." I hugged her again. "Of course! You are my friend after all." We continued on our way back to class.
