How unfair it all seemed. Despite cultivating a garden of exceptional women, neither Zhao Rong nor Cheng Young showed any interest in them.

'Why chase after me, when my little angels surpass me in every possible way?'

Tianshies' talents spread far and wide. And Bing Shi? Apart from her unique appearance and nimble mind, what did she truly have to offer?

Granted, if she ever publicly revealed her pole dancing skills—a talent so different it would surely captivate this world—she could easily top the charts, surpassing even Nile.

But that display was never meant for public consumption; it was solely a method to strengthen her own physique.

After the recent auction, Bing Shi found herself attending to an elderly man eager to experience the charms of Zhao Rong's most cherished courtesan.

For Bing Shi, the encounter offered a refreshing change of pace from her usual interactions with the prince. Her role shifted into that of a gracious companion, pouring wine and engaging in games of chess and cards to brighten his day.

As for the inexplicable 'link,' it seemed to function like some sort of mystical tracking system. A device that enabled the male protagonists to pinpoint the whereabouts of the female lead, no matter how well she concealed herself.

This enigmatic connection appeared to activate around the time Mao An reached a specific age—a marriageable age, to be precise, similar to Bing Shi's current age. It would answer why Zhao Rong found the older Bing Shi first, instead of the younger Fu Lian.

'What do the three of us have in common?'

'We all seem to be females from another dimension.'

'Why didn't the male leads notice Xuan Mu, who is older than me by a few years?'

'Maybe because of his gender?'

Reading many history books, Bing Shi stumbled upon a few odd things—About men who gained immeasurable power and influence due to their innovative ideas, especially during disasters—they could come up with revolutionary things without any prior research.

How often would a person come up with a perfect design and formula without any prototypes and failed first attempts? Not often. This made Bing Shi suspect that perhaps these men had been aided by other interdimensional beings—reincarnators or transmigrators.

Going through the world story a few times, Bing Shi only cared about the characters. As for the plot, she never depended on it. She would have never been offered this job if everything was predestined. She could prevent death, but there were things, like fated meetings, that she couldn't stop from happening; it would only backfire later if she tried.

Why did she fear acting off character so much when a person could change from one second to another? It was in the beginning when she was still testing the waters.

She later learned that this rule was essentially in place to appease the previous soul inhabiting a host body. The goal was to make the former occupants believe they were still in control, encouraging them to accept the reincarnation process willingly.

Cheng Young, a young master whose face seemed sculpted by divine hands, stood serenely in light blue robes just outside the sprawling garden. Around him, Bing Shi's guards glared menacingly, their armor gleaming, spears drawn, and shields raised.

"Easy, gentlemen," Cheng Young placated, unfurling his fan with a charming smile. "This one was merely just passing by."

"By trespassing into a private property?! Get lost before we throw you out with force!" a guard shouted out, loud barks followed.

Not knowing that this white-haired youth was a foreign prince, the guards took him for a rich merchant's son who thought he could do as he pleased!

They had their orders: no interruptions while Tian Shi rested before her impending journey to expand Hasan's enterprise. Unless the royalty, nobody shall bother her!

But then a deafening BANG cut through the evening dusk.

All men gaped at the fallen dog on the ground with a small hole in between its forehead. It twitched and growled in agony, before going deathly silent.

Putting up their shield, all the guards got into a fighting formation, feeling unsettled. What was that strange weapon?!

"I heard that a famous courtesan resides here," Cheng Young's voice suddenly grew dangerous as he blew the smoke from the top of his gun, his aloof aura disappeared. "Where is she?" he asked.

Cheng Young lured all the guards here so his people could search for that courtesan. He was looking for women who were not from this world — women who could cause the fall of the countries.

Men who got in touch with them would gain immeasurable power and influence. This secret was passed down by his father, whose mother was also not from this world. And it seemed that only nobility and royalty had the power to track those women down.

Bing Shi stopped in her tracks, her knuckles white as she clenched her fists. Her eyes, usually so lifeless, were ablaze with a mix of rage and sorrow.

'He killed my dogs...'

How could Bing Shi get her job done right when HQ hid so much information from her? They couldn't send her information from every person in the world — that would make her go insane.

It could be said that HQ didn't want their hosts to lose their humanity, by preventing them from feeling like a God.

They didn't have a clear answer on how to cure the unpredictable broken souls. However, they wanted Bing Shi to patch the unsteady dimension. Partly considering her different circumstances, they gave her the right tools and free rein to do what she deemed fit.

Bing Shi couldn't care less if she was viewed as a weakling or a pushover. Yi Zen could leave cold blisters on her, Zhao Rong could throw her around like a rag doll — as long as something benefited her mission, she couldn't feel a thing. She didn't have a need to take revenge or to retaliate against them aggressively.
