That night, Jimin didn't get a visit from Zangling, and something inside him was rather disappointed. He had been hoping it would be more than a one-time thing, but it seemed that he had somehow scared him off.

After a restless night, spent drifting in and out of sleep, alternately scared and berating himself, he got up for school, bags under his tired eyes. As soon as Jin saw him, he put his foot down, both literally and figuratively, and made him take a sleeping tablet and go back to bed.

Jimin didn't realise until it was too late that he had missed the opportunity to save Min Yoongi. As it was, he was too tired to do more than collapse back onto his bed and float in and out sleep for the rest of the day.

-

Luckily for Min Yoongi, he was in his hideout, pacing around violently and cursing himself. Why had he done that to Jimin!? It wasn't often that his powers overflowed, but Jimin was more susceptible to them than anyone he had ever met.

A part of him wondered if it was a natural or nurtured trait, but he shut that down. It wouldn't do to be analysing Jimin like a science experiment while trying to deal with his emotions over the issue.

He paced for hours on end, pulling his powers inwards as much as he could. He knew it would amplify his emotions and thoughts. Perhaps, though, enough would be whizzing around, the right ones would collide, and he would find the solution to his problems.

But no answer came to him, and as morning turned into afternoon, and afternoon into evening, he realised he had been pacing for over six hours.

Sighing tiredly, he went to bed once more, drifting in and out of sleep, just like the cute, orange-haired fluffball his thoughts were centred around.

-

Jimin woke at midnight, staring out of his window. He didn't know why, but something made him lean out and peer up. He gazed at a particular spot on the roof, but it was a few minutes before he understood why.

He drew his head and torso back inside abruptly and almost flew back to his bed, trying to forget Zangling; his gentle words, his dark eyes, the soft caress of his hands through Jimin's hair and his form bathed in the sparkling moonlight.

He desperately tried to forget and achieved his goal, just not in the way he liked. Instead, he thought about Yoongi, but that, too, led to thoughts of Zangling. Something about them seemed connected, especially inside Jimin's head. Yoongi showed up after his midnight encounter with Zangling, and then Zangling saved him after he left Yoongi at the school.

And then he suddenly was not so reticent about his appas' revenge plans. What if Yoongi was a supervillain, and after finding out about Zangling's attachment to him, was plotting to hold him hostage?

With that, he decided to avoid the mint-head from there onwards. It was clear that Yoongi was trouble and even more apparent that if he wanted safety, Yoongi, being that so-called 'trouble' should be out of the picture.

With that last thought, he rolled over and shut his eyes, finally laying to rest his chaotic thoughts. But just as he hadn't distracted himself in the way he wanted, he would eventually find that the truth did not change because of expectations or desires.
