Jimin smiled as he got on with the club activities, which mainly consisted of telling Hoseok not to plan the wedding when he hadn't even asked his interest out yet.
"What about white roses? They're marriage flowers - you want to marry her, right? So maybe you can express that with white roses," Jin suggested.
Hoseok thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I don't want to put unfair pressure on her. I want to marry her, but she might not want to marry me." His expression became downcast for a moment.
Jin smiled wisely. "Marriage doesn't happen right away. Neither do strong feelings like yours. You were her childhood friend, weren't you? Perhaps, all this time, you have been cultivating your love for her."
"Hmmm," Hoseok pondered.
"What about orange roses?" Jungkook proposed. "They mean love and friendship. And for you and Jun-deok, it could mean that your feelings of friendship have changed to love."
Hoseok pondered it for a bit longer but shook his head. "Maybe not. I don't want her to misinterpret it as friendly feelings." He gasped with horror. "What if I accidentally crush her heart and soul!?"
"Calm down," Yoongi groaned. "You're obviously not going to choose anything that leaves her in doubt, so calm. Down."
Hoseok gulped in air and gave Yoongi a thankful look. "Right, okay. What else could I give?"
"What about purple roses?" Namjoon said, glancing at Jin with a nostalgic smile. "They represent love at first sight and can be associated with royalty."
Hoseok stuck his tongue. "That's you and Jin, not Sun-deok and I."
Namjoon sighed, disappointed, prompting Jin to plant a short kiss on his lips. "What Hoseok said is true. Purple is our flower, see?"
"Yuckie," Taehyung muttered, covering his eyes with both hands. Jungkook nodded in agreement, staring with transfixed horror.
Everyone else in the room grimaced at the display except Hoseok, who just stared wistfully. Seeing this, Jimin suggested his idea. "What about a green rose? It means fertility, rejuvenation and good tidings. So, it could be an offer to start anew with a romantic relationship."
"And have children someday, which means marriage!" Hoseok cheered up. "Perfect! Not too obvious but it still has all of my feelings!"
He leapt at Jimin for a hug. "You're a genius, Jimin!" he shouted, squeezing the younger almost to the point of suffocation.
"Air... I need air!" he managed to cough out.
Hoseok released him and pranced around, alternately joyous and soul crushed, eager to confess his love but unspeakably nerve-wracked by the prospect of possibly being rejected.
Jimin watched his hyung a little enviously, thinking back to Zangling and how his heart beat faster at the thought of him, how his cheeks heated up whenever he saw him, and about their secret, late-night rendezvous. But then, it made him think of Yoongi; strange and somehow unsettling Yoongi. The Possibly-A-Bad-Guy-And-Enemy-Of-Zangling Yoongi.
"Hmmm," he murmured. "I wonder..."
"You wonder what?" Jungkook asked him suddenly, frightening Jimin and making him leap three feet into the air. He stumbled and fell on Jungkook, sending them both to the floor and toppling Taehyung who was right next to Jungkook.
He looked at them and blushed in embarrassment. "Sorry, Kookie. Sorry, Tae..." he muttered, his face getting redder and redder.
"I am a FISH! A FISH!" Taehyung shouted, desperately gasping for breath.
Jungkook practically screamed. "No, you're not! That's why you're suffocating! Jiminie-hyung!" he shoved both himself and Jimin to the side with hopeless dramaticism. "Tae-taaaaaae! Noooo!"
Jimin watched on blankly, a deadpan expression on his face. Well, at least he had managed to avoid a Taekook interrogation. Even if what they were saying made no sense.
All the while, he felt a piercing gaze on his back, following his every move. A shiver ran down his spine.
'Zangling,' Jimin thought among the jumble of his thoughts. 'Be safe.'
