The next few days passed peacefully, with the exception of Hoseok's frantic anxiety, Jin and Namjoon's married couple arguing, Taehyung's... In all honesty, those days did not pass peacefully, but that was normal, so it instead could be said it passed normally. Yoongi had visited Jimin a number of times - as Zangling, of course - each visit occurring under the secretive light of the moon.

But recently, a thought had wedged itself in Yoongi's mind, making itself a nice little nook and bringing some cushions, blankets and books to get comfortable. While that thought might have been content to expand its territory, though, Yoongi wanted it to find somewhere else to be.

He knew that Jimin didn't know who Zangling was under the mask. That also meant that Jimin regarded Zangling and Yoongi as two different people rather than the single person that they were. But that begged other questions, like why was Jimin so overly physical and touchy around Zangling and not Yoongi. He'd never even seen Zangling's face.

That little thought looked up from the comfort of its nook - now a field, really - and smiled, suggesting that maybe it was because Jimin only cared for his super status. Not in a bad way, but in a hero-worship sort of way.

He must have looked suitably puzzled, as Jimin had looked up and asked him, "Are you alright?"

Yoongi turned to regard the younger man, his mask obscuring all but his mouth and chin. The moon shone through the window behind, blocked by his still frame and casting a deep shadow across the floor.

"Jimin." He knew he had to say it, his worries, but a big part of him didn't want to. What if Jimin really did only hero-worship him instead of seeing him as a person? What if, by explaining his thoughts, he hurt Jimin's feelings or pushed him away? After all, he was doubting the younger, so why wouldn't Jimin be hurt by it?

"Zangling?" The younger's innocent voice interrupted his thoughts. That's right, he thought. Innocent. Maybe he should be more hopeful as to the manner of Jimin's feelings. He was genuine, soft and kind. So why...?

Trying to push away the nagging thoughts that he couldn't seem to help thinking, he approached the bed slowly and sat on the edge. Jimin stared up at him like he was trying to figure something but didn't really know what he was supposed to be looking at.

Yoongi sighed aloud, resting his head on his hand. After a few moments, he sighed once more and turned away. He had rehearsed over and over what he might say, but it just didn't seem right.

The bed dipped towards him and moments later, he had a cute pile of Jimin on his lap. Jimin rested his hands gently on his shoulders, barely blinking when Yoongi's arms wrapped around his waist to tug him a little closer. Yoongi's breath caught in his throat, putting a stopper on the words that might have wanted to come out.

Jimin was rarely this touchy, in fact, Yoongi only remembered him initiating contact a couple of times, and it was usually very innocent. This was different. More intimate.

If his body had not been frozen and wired so confusingly, he would have shaken his head at his own thoughts. There he went, thinking as though they were lovers. Or on the cusp of it. But they were nowhere near it, and the likelihood that Jimin actually liked him in that way was minuscule.

He focused his eyes on Jimin's, if only to anchor himself to a saner state of mind, and nuzzled Jimin's revealed collar bone with his cheek. Just one little bit more and he would be...

"I have to spend more time doing research and intel gathering," he whispered, his voice strangely steady. His stomach dropped out when he realised what he was saying. "I won't be able to visit for a few weeks."

As his soft whisper faded into the breeze, Jimin slackened in his arms.

"Oh."

He would be gone.

And he was such a damned coward.
