Can we keep each other's company?
I'm tired of being alone and by the look on your face, so are you.
Can we keep each other's company?
They say love hurts and I know its true.

The most beautiful people and the most beautiful things,
Will have you falling, Snatching at the wind.
They don't think twice before washing you down the drain,
Now I know what they meant when they said beauty is pain.

Please hold my hand,
Keep me warm.
I've been cold so long, I've forgotten what its like.
Please close your eyes, savour the moment,
Who knows if we'll have another one.

He said let there be light, but she plunged me in darkness,
He said my heart was with my treasure, but she killed it.
Now what do I have left?
Nothing but dust and an empty space.

Sorry to sit here, feeling sorry for myself,
But I haven't had the pleasure of speaking with someone such as yourself.
For my life is like a book, with torn pages, thrown off the shelf, but still interesting to read and interesting to tell.

I beg you not to leave,
Because you've stumbled on an old penny.
An outcast among jewels, but a king amongst the showcase.
