It was late, approaching dusk, on the evening of November 1, 1981. Two men sat, deep in conversation within the head office at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Dumbledore it's not fair, they can't lock him up without trial." Remus yelled.

"Remus I know what you're going through-"

"No you don't," Remus interrupted.

"Remus you were there, you know what he's done." Dumbledore stated calmly.

"Professor, in the past 20 hours I've lost everyone I've ever come to love. Every one of my friends has been ripped away from me. And if there's any chance that Si-Black is innocent I need to know, you can't lock him away without trial." Remus says on the verge of tears.

"You can't," he mutters to himself.

Dumbledore looks down sadly, "Remus in the spirit of fairness, I'll see to it they trial Sirius under veritaserum."

Remus looks up at the man in awe and thanks him, before politely taking his leave.
