At the age of five, everybody is granted their own personal fairy. You know which type you have based off of the little metal band that wraps around their head. The color of it classifying which exact species they're from. For example, mine has a gold band, so therefore he's a sun fairy.
What kind of relationship you have with your fairy, is completely up to you. Most are friends, some become acquaintances, really only being there if their human needs them, and then some become lovers.
Mine, is my lover.
The thing about fairies though is not only can they manipulate their own bodies to become human sized, but they can also adjust the size of the little crown that sits atop their head.
Mine really likes to wear it as jewelry most of the time. An armband when he's wearing tanks, a choker when he's wearing something high cut, a ring when he wants to be more subtle about the fact that he's a fairy, and then my two favorites:
1. A belly button ring when he's wearing something cropped.
2.When he dresses edgy, a nose ring.
Just let's the pretty thing hug the side of his nose, or when he's really feeling it, a snug little septum.
In the bed though, is a whole different story. When he bottoms, he'll put it through one of his little buds for some intense nipple play and then when he tops, god he goes with the Prince Albert and it drives me fucking crazy.
