A book is not but a book,
But a new world for us to see.
A world is not but a world,
Without the monsters lurking deep.
A cover is not but a cover,
But a path to show where the words lie.
A plot is not but a plot,
It causes the metaphorical boat to capsize.
A pen is not but a pen,
But a way to let imagination free.
Words are not but words,
Especially when they make us feel.
A writer is not but a writer,
But someone who opens your eyes.
A character is not but a character,
Through them we live a thousand lives.
A theme is not but a theme,
But like a gateway or the master key.
A lesson is not but a lesson,
It shows us how ignorant we can be.
An illustrator is not but an illustrator,
But a guide to help us visualise.
A colourist is not but a colourist,
They bring life to worlds.
A publisher does not merely publish,
There are many things to oversee.
A publisher is not but a publisher,
