I thought of you

On Monday, I thought of you.
Of how you reminded me of the warmth
of the sun on my face after a long winter.

On Tuesday, I thought of you.
Of how your embrace was like a sedative
that calmed the chaos in my mind.

On Wednesday, I thought of you.
Of how beautiful you looked amongst
The flower bed of daisies in summer.

On Thursday, I thought of you.
Of how your laughter was the cure
to my deepest melancholic thoughts.

On Friday, I thought of you.
Of how the taste of cherries and wine
lingered on your lips to share with me.

On Saturday, I thought of you.
Of how you led me to the yellow brick road
where only good things reside.

On Sunday, I thought of you.
Of how you've become nothing more to me
than a distant memory that I cherish.

Everyday, I think of you,
Of how I wish I could say thank you
just one more time before you go.
