[In the car]

There was nothing but silence. You couldn't help but wonder why Jimin kept defending you. Maybe he liked you? Probably not. It isn't everyday where a boy like him catches feelings for a girl like you. Jimin sure does act odd though, but then again nothing has been more odd than the way Jungkook acts around you. Maybe Jungkook likes you? Or maybe he's just a pervert who wants to get in your pants.

"You know....Y/n..." Jimin trailed off as he scratched his head. You waited for the end of that sentence but there wasn't one. Minutes passed, each one making you more and more nervous.

Finally after about six minutes he said "I've been thinking."

"About what?" You were practically begging and praying for it to be about something good.

"Do you like him?" There was no emotion in his eyes. He just stared at the road like nothing else mattered to him. "Like who?" You pretended like you didn't know that he was talking about Jungkook.

"Jungkook. Jungkook Y/n. Do you like him?" His serious tone of voice was slowly slipping out which, to be honest, made you happy. It seemed like Jimin really didn't like thinking about you and Jungkook.

"No.....I don't." Hoping Jimin would be relieved but you were confused when he looked sad this time. It was like a part of him just left.

"Do you love him?" Jimin said as he parked the car on the side of an old gravel road. He avoided eye contact with you. He wanted a response.

"Jimin, I don't love him. I-I've never loved anyone to be honest. I'm not sure if I even know how to love someone." You looked down as your eyes started to tear up.

"What do you mean Y/n? Like you've never dated someone before or you've never had feelings for someone?" His voice was shaking. Did you say something wrong? You wondered.

"I've always kind of pushed people away before I could catch feelings for them. It's a very lonely method but I'm so afraid of getting my heart broken by someone, I don't really want to risk it." You stated. "Even if it means my happiness."

"Can you promise me something Y/n?"

"Promise you what?"

"If you ever catch feelings for me, please don't push me away." Jimin took your hand and made you look into his big puppy eyes.

"I won't." 

"Oh and if you catch feelings for Jungkook, be careful. He's an idiot but he knows how to sweet talk a girl into getting what he wants." He warned you.

You reassured Jimin with a big smile and said "Don't worry, I'll try my hardest not to fall in love with him."

"Good."

Jimin started the car back up and turned on the radio. A familiar song came on and you almost jumped out of your seat when you heard it.

"Oh my god Y/n, you gave me a heart attack." Jimin said while holding his heart and laughed.

"Sorry....I just really like this song."

"Oh you too?" Jimin turned the volume up and began singing it to you while waiting for you to join in.

"JIMIN YOU HAVE A REALLY GOOD VOICE." You tried talking over the music but it was too loud.

"What?" Jimin said.

"YOUR VOICE. IT'S REALLY GOOD."

"What?" He said again.

You turned down the music so he could hear you.

"Your voice Jimin. I like it."

Jimin looked shocked. He didn't expect you to say that. He blushed. "Thank you Y/n."

"I really would like to hear you sing more often ya know." You poked his shoulder.

"Oh ha ha.......alright." He giggled.

"What?" You wondered why you got that reaction from him.

"It's just that I've never gotten that request before." Jimin said as he pulled up to your house, parked his car and got out. You got out after him and walked behind him to give him a back hug. Your chin barely could reach his shoulder. When he asked you what you were doing you just hugged tighter.

"Out of everything that we did today that car ride was the thing that I enjoyed the most, being alone with you was refreshing." You said and thanked him for being so kind to you. You really liked being around only him. He made you feel so safe and so cared for. You knew that he would protect you with every bone in his body and you've only known him for a few days.

"I enjoyed it too Y/n." He turned around and hugged you back. His eyes looked so glossy, and the moonlight complimented his delicate skin beautifully.

He walked you to the front door of your house and gave you one last goodbye hug. It saddened you that he had to go, even if it was for a short amount of time. You wanted nothing but to be by him right now. In his embrace.

You went inside and started to close the door slowly. You wanted him to stop you but he didn't.

"And who was he?? Your boyfriend?" Your mother asked abruptly.

"What? No no no, he's just a new friend of mine." You sweated.

"I saw the hug."

"Oh ha ha, yeah, it was a friend hug. Because were friends...just friends."

"If you say so." Your mother said sarcastically.

[Jimin's POV]

"I enjoyed it too Y/n." You hugged her back. You wanted to tell her that you liked her but it was too soon. Way too soon. It wasn't a good idea to confess. You would eventually, but right now was just about having right now. She might not even like you back yet but you will make her. You were going to make her fall in love with you. You're going to make her happy.
