"You're only ten months older than me." Jakob shoots back a hint of defence in his tone. Was he offended?

For me that phase had hit in middle school and was now long gone. At some point in high school reality hits and you realise that there is no such thing as a Prince Charming and happily ever after. It just doesn't happen because it doesn't exist.
I won't get my iconic beauty and the beast dance, my Cinderella midnight magic moment, or my Aladdin flying carpet ride. Instead I got a but load of homework and the boy staring right back at me with as much disinterest in me as I have in him.
