HERMIONE GRANGER’S PARTNER REVEALED???

The International Population Expansion Act was announced over a year ago and war heroine, Hermione Granger, has yet to publicly announce her match. Rumor has it that she was paired with old flame Cormac McLaggen (current keeper for the Bulgarian Vratsa Vultures). They were spotted at Flourish and Blotts bookstore last Saturday and the pair looked quite cozy in the family planning section. Could this be the path to the first baby from the golden trio from the International Population Expansion Act?

Draco threw the pile of rubbish into the bin. The Daily Prophet never published the truth and with the ninth anniversary of the second war coming up, reporters had been following Hermione and Draco like hawks. The vultures had been following Draco everywhere for the past week. He couldn’t step out of his office without being followed a team of reporters trying to capture a picture of Draco with his partner. Draco and Hermione decided early on to keep their relationship between close friends and relatives because people may not accept them. They barely have time for one another so they do not want to waste their precious moments together surrounded by judgemental arseholes with cameras who find their relationship scandalous and newsworthy.

Draco had to walk two blocks to the ministry to pick up Hermione for their Thursday night date night but the pack of press standing outside of his office building stopped him. He could go to the bathroom and apparate to the ministry but he did that two weeks ago and got in trouble with the ministry because the janitor saw him disappear into thin air. Needless to say Draco is now on the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastophes’ watch list. And he is going to be on another watchlist if these bloody vultures don’t leave him alone.

“Mr. Malfoy, you still haven’t publicly announced your partner.”

“Malfoy, is it true you’re currently in an illegal relationship with model Ivy Lawrence?”

“Mr. Malfoy the Daily Prophet would love an interview!”

For the love of merlin, Draco thought. He was two feet from the muggle entrance and his head was about to explode. As soon as he closed the telephone booth closed, Draco typed in the access code as quickly as possible and made a break for Hermione’s office, it wouldn’t be long before the press would attempt to follow him. He jammed the elevator door closed just as the first reporter spotted him from the entrance. He smugly waved goodbye and sighed a sigh of relief.

When Draco entered Hermione’s office she didn’t notice him. She had a habit of getting completely caught up in her work because she loved it. Draco understood that her work was very important to her and she needed a partner to support her through the stressful times and to pull her back to the real world when she got too caught up.

“I hope I’m not interrupting anything,” Draco smirked.

“No actually I’m just about finished,” Hermione replied. Her curly hair was pulled up into a messy bun and her yellow blazer was haphazardly thrown across the leather chair on the other side of her desk. She gathered the papers on her desk and slipped them into a red envelope labeled “confidential”.

“Ready to go?”

“No I actually wanted to talk to you about something before we go.”

This made Draco completely nervous. Usually when a woman says some form of ‘we need to talk’ it doesn’t end well. Draco sat down in an empty leather chair and put on a brave face, “Is everything alright?”

Hermione must have sensed Draco worry because she walked to the other side of her desk and placed her hands on either side of his face to comfort him, “Draco, everything is fine, I just  wanted to know if you were ready to publicly come out with our relationship. The War Commerce Ball is next weekend and I thought it would be nice to go together. Share our relationship on our terms.”

“Are you sure, Hermione? Once we go down this path we can’t come back”

“Draco Malfoy, I am so in love with you that I don’t know what to do with myself. If we get a bit of backlash because a few old fashioned witches and wizards can’t handle it, we will deal with it.”
